Wow watching that makes me sad for Liam. Why would you be sad for him?

I think he is overly controlled by the Beatles/Lennon mythology. "Paul and John snipped at each other after 1970 so I will take shots at Noel all the time." It is played out and boring. Noel doesn't write Liam into songs and jab at him, but Liam feels the need to refer to Noel in his songwriting. If anything, I think he should look for new musical influences. It seems that all of his songs are modelled after the same songwriter. If I didn't know that he likes other artists, I would assume he's only ever listened to John Lennon.

Sounds like an amalgamation of every single Beady Eye song.

Cool to see, but pretty rough at the same time.

This NME thing is pretty sick. Also, everybody takes this performance as a sign of upcoming solo album, but if he would be in the serious process of making it and consider this song to be a single or something i assume that he'd rather don't spoil it by some performance in pub in front of drunk people filming it. He might be just strumming a song he wrote few weeks ago or something. The whole thing can encourage him to record some of his stuff sooner than later though. Good news is that he didn't put the guitar down for good, but it might not be such a big deal as everybody hopes it is.

This NME thing is pretty sick. They need to just fall off the face of the Earth or blow up in a spectacular champagne supernova!

Wow. A professional musician making music in public.
Sorry, I don't get it.

Around 5:40 Liam says something like "we'll get the strings in there." Sounds like a new album to me

He could have written the song before Noel named his album Chasing Yesterday, so I wouldn't call it "taking shots at Noel" just yet. Although knowing Liam, he probably is.

The truth is, Liam's solo career started long time ago, you fuckers just don't know in which pubs it's going on for nearly 20 years now.

I think media is making a big deal because they thought Liam's career was dead in the water never to be seen again. And this song hit us out of the blue and it's not that bad. It makes me look forward to whatever he's doing next.

73k views in less than two days on an unexpected, personal video of a bunch of drunk people acting fools enjoying a legend play guitar and singing a song, recorded all by someone on youtube with just 8 subscribers. It's impressive.
Liam does have fans.

This verse always makes me think of Liam: You've been drifting and stealing Trying to walk in my shoes But they don't belong to you, You know you know, But you can't find the meaning, Sing to yourself and hold on

Sounds good, quite a bit like the better BE stuff - Back after the Break or Off at the Next Exit. Honestly, if Liam could match the quality of those songs solo, consistently, it would be huge.

Finally listened to it.
I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to a solo effort by Liam. Sure I would check it, but it's not something I'll get excited about.
Like I already said: the lyrics are weak. I was hoping the melody would make me forget that, like Noels songs and Oasis songs make me do for instance. But melodically it's just too weak and again an unoriginal Lennon rip off.
Disappointing.

Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew. That was his power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone. God bless.
