Right, here goes. To any Scottish football fans, and I know there are a few on here, this is the place to discuss any topic to do with domestic clubs or the national team. And for all you old firm fans, please keep the sectarian pish to a minimum.

Are you a Falkirk fan? What do you think of Houstie?

Are you a Falkirk fan? What do you think of Houstie? I am a Falkirk fan. I really wasn't happy with him towards the start of the season when we basically just played hoof-ball and completely shat it against Rangers and Hearts. However there was a turning point at half time against Hearts in November when the players told him that they hated his style of football and wanted to play the way they'd been playing for the past few seasons. Ever since then we've been great, only losing 1 in 15. It seems that the fans have really warmed to him.

What did you make of the objects Samco-I mean Rangers threw at Hibs fans?

I'd love to talk about the football again one day...
I'm a bloody expert in financial / administration processes nowadays so if anyone needs any advice, I'm your man!
Seriously though, the "style" of football Rangers have been playing this season has been horrendous to say the least. Can't even make basic 6 yard passes or even cross a ball. Corners and free kicks very rarely beat the first man and we have no penetration at all. Plus Ian Black is nothing but a dirty wee hatchet man with fuck all talent whatsoever.
I've enjoyed watching Dundee United in the Premiership whenever I've caught them, McNamara has done pretty well, just need a bit more consistency. shame both Armstrong and Mackay-Stevens left for Celtic.
Hearts have done well and Hibs seemed to have turned a corner, Scott Allan has turned out to be a great signing.

Everyone has been raving about Scott Allan but he hasn't performed for Hibs on any of the three occasions we've played them. Subbed off twice and just fouled players all day long on the other occasion. I'm guessing that he is the player that makes Hibs tick and when he doesn't play well, the team doesn't play well. I agree that Rangers style has been awful, with guys like Black and McCulloch in the side, although as an opposition fan, you were always guaranteed a laugh when Mohsni was playing. Despite all that, Falkirk still can't seem to ever put in a performance against them. Will you be making your way to our charming little town for tomorrow evening's entertainment? I'm sure Willie Collum will make sure he's the star of the show.

What do you make of Gary Locke? He seems to have turned things around a bit with your recent results.

What do you make of Gary Locke? He seems to have turned things around a bit with your recent results. He has done well, they are scoring now however still conceding a few and we've lost our best defender in at least 5 years Mark Connolly due to injury so we need to find a way to stay tight at the back, that being said Dundee Utd and Inverness are both strong going forward. At the time I was unsure about Locke but he's swaying me. Done well at Heats but pressure was practically off by then anyway. He also gives youth a chance as shown with Hearts as he basically built Robbie Nielsons team for him.
The bairns are doing well now, eh? Would love to see Falkirk back but I do also think we need Gers, Hearts and Hibs back in. I'm in favour of the sixteen team league although I will admit the play-off has sparked a little bit of life back into the game. Were you at Rugby Park for the relegation match, scary day that was. We were very lucky.

I was at that. Horrible day. I still think about that miss from Ryan Flynn in the 87th minute that he put over the bar from about 6 yards. I don't think we'll get back up this season. I'm not even sure if we'll make the playoffs. Queens are a very strong outfit and we keep dropping silly points at home. If we do then I'd fancy us to beat Hibs if they came third, as we've got a great record against them this season. Against Rangers, not so much. I agree about the playoffs. One up, one down was a ridiculous system and many teams in both SPL and Div 1 were left with weeks and weeks of meaningless games. A sixteen team league would be good. There are teams like us, Queens, Hearts, Hibs, Rangers and maybe Raith that would be good additions to the top flight. And then you've got the likes of Dunfermline who have good SPL experience but have really fallen away hard over the past 3 seasons.

He had a howler in a recent St Mirren game I think it was and ended up having his 2 big decisions reversed. Unbelievable he's a FIFA referee. Think Falkirk and Dumbarton are the only teams we've managed to have a 100% record against this season. Glad that wee shite Black hadn't been playing recently, he's a massive problem. Haha I nearly forgot all about Moshni... Bomb scare is an understatement! I'll be watching the game on TV tomorrow. Used to go to away games but there's far too many wee fannies in the Gers support for me. As evidenced last week at Raith, no need for the bullshit songs, stuck in the dark ages.

I think maybe the best chance of them getting a solid foundation would be promoting through the youth, like what Southampton and other clubs did when they went into administration. There's the odd player coming through I think no?

We had Lewis MacLeod this season who was a talent and our best player the last couple of years but we ended up selling him for pennies due to the pitiful way the club is being run right now. Andy Murdoch who has played the last couple of games is a prospect though so he may fill the void, he's already shown more in 3 games than the rest of the midfield combined. We have some decent youngsters in all positions but since admin McCoist (I Love the man as a player and ambassador, never a manager) filled us with overpaid journeymen and this season it really showed. Also his lack of tactical awareness severely hampered us and Kenny McDowell (Again a decent guy) is just carrying that on right now. This season is a write off for me because the players have downed tools and have tried to blame the boardroom wars on how they kick a ball. The sooner guys like Foster, Black, Hutton, Law are gone the better. With a new coach we may see the younger boys with some proper decent experienced players in there to help them out.

This is the game in question. I understand your feelings about the wee fannies. Every club has them but there are of obviously more of them in the ranks of Rangers and Celtic due to larger support. I remember back in August one of them threw a flare onto our plastic pitch and it burned a hole in it.

Towards the end of his time with us though he got a bit too big for his boots and I was pretty glad to see him go. Will still always be a legend though:

United always seemed to play fast attacking football and I couldn't understand why we were so pedestrian. Did he have any involvement in the academy? If he did then he's helped bring through a fair few great players. Was it Houston that signed Mark Millar for United a couple of seasons ago? I know he rarely got played but he had two spells with us and was our most influential player. Houstie passed up on re-signing him this season, I think because he didn't like his work ethic.

Jim, I can't believe Charlie Telfer could not break into that team. Great wee player. McCoist is a total fud ignoring boys like him and signing the like of Black and Daly. Scott Alan will be back at Tannadice in the summer Telfer is a prime example of the kinda player we should've been building the team around. Him, MacLeod, Murdoch and Barrie Mackay... Instead we got Black, Law, Hutton and Templeton (£750k for a 4th tier team... Idiocy). McCoist just didn't have a clue, had a blank canvas and messed it up. I mean Sandaza, Kevin Kyle, Black, Foster, Steven Smith, Simonson... The list goes on. Aye I seen Hibs knocked back a coupla bids from you's on transfer deadline day. Good player, I like him.

I think it'll be extremely close between Falkirk and Queens. I think if yous could get Rory Loy firing proper again, yous have a proper shout. Good luck for tomorrow night.
Yeah exactly and with Scottish football being so dear, it's crumbling attendances year after year.
I think it is better than playing the same team 4 times per campaign. One of my worst away days was at that mob. We got hammered 4-0 wearing a red kit which was also unusual. Jim Jefferies was our manager then. Dunfermline and Ayr United...top teams

Do you think you'll pip Rangers to second place? I think we just might! We are scoring goals again which is the main thing. We are having a great run & Alan Stubbs is the man just now. Rangers have a couple of games in hand though & are the favourites but I keep the faith for an all Edinburgh 1st & 2nd place. Rangers need to linger a bit longer in the lower leauge imo, but the SFA probably think different.

Major problem also in that what some consider as 'star players' are quite old. I watched the Hibs game a couple of weeks ago, and I thought some Rangers players were struggling to keep up with some of he Hibs players. Granted, Alan Stubbs has brought top fitness experts to improve the Hibs players, but I thought there was a lack of fitness amongst the Rangers players. But a fitter younger Rangers side would have won that game comfortably I think.

Their fitness has come on leaps and bounds since Stubbs took over - they seem to chase and press the ball a lot better do they not? Read somewhere they hired some sports science expert. It's a model all Scottish clubs should be following - Scottish football has been well behind in fitness terms for many years, and moulding real athletes will only improve the game here.
