what do you guys make of Chris Martins opinion that more than just the US should vote for the president as it massively affects more than just the US? Horrible idea. If he wants to vote become a U.S. citizens. Shit, he spends most his time in America anyways. Yeah, terrible idea. Nice way to shaft all Americans and lose all democratic legitimacy as a 'rest of the world vote' wouldn't care about matters strictly happening in the US. What right do I have as a Scot voting on something that will majorly affect issues such as austerity, welfare and healthcare in America? Chris is really starting to lose his marbles, not just in the Coldplay studio either.

Anyone potentially running for President going to address this? .... "Half of global wealth held by the 1%" www.theguardian.com/business/2015/jan/19/global-wealth-oxfam-inequality-davos-economic-summit-switzerlandThis needs to be plan as a global agenda, nevermind an American one: • Clamp down on tax dodging by corporations and rich individuals. • Invest in universal, free public services such as health and education. • Share the tax burden fairly, shifting taxation from labour and consumption towards capital and wealth. • Introduce minimum wages and move towards a living wage for all workers. • Introduce equal pay legislation and promote economic policies to give women a fair deal. • Ensure adequate safety-nets for the poorest, including a minimum-income guarantee. • Agree a global goal to tackle inequality.

'guess who's back?' romney, huh? at first i thought this thread was about someone else Kalas will return. He's probably just hanging out on that other forum until his blood stops boiling. Guess I missed all that drama. Don't want to know; don't even want to ask. what do you guys make of Chris Martins opinion that more than just the US should vote for the president as it massively affects more than just the US? That might be the dumbest fucking thing I've heard since those kids on Twitter asking who Paul McCartney is. He really does think he's Bono, doesn't he? Now back to the topic at hand. Mitt Romney is a great man, but he's too nice to be President. Isn't he getting tired of getting crucified in the media? They'll be gunning big-time for anyone opposing Hillary; they know they're in deep shit with her after 2008 and she'll sooooooo get her revenge on them if they don't suck up good and proper. Romney don't need this crap, he should enjoy his money, his family, and the rest of his life. He's not too nice. He'll say and do anything to become President. Look at the many opposing views he's had and statements he's made over the years. And people called Kerry a flip-flopper... He didn't have the full backing of the Republican base in 2012 because he was already old news. His time was in 2008, and when he lost to McCain (whose time was in 2000). I think this Republican primary race will come down to either Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush.

Parachutes, AROBBTH and Viva La Vida are all CLASSIC pop-rock albums and Politik is better than anything U2 has ever done. Only WTSHNN ever made any impression on me from U2

I like Achtung Baby, not so much Zooropa - and actually I am strangely inclined to Songs of Innocence, but in truth I never love them - there's just a lack of genuine emotional weight to me...there songs don't have that *something* that makes my favourite bands - the achingly beautiful paranioa of Radiohead, the ice-cool swagger of Oasis and the sublime melancholic melodies of Coldplay...idk I like them often but they never GET me...D'ya know warra mean?

I get'ya, it's the same problem I'm experiencing with a lot of other "groundbeaking" bands as well, let's say The Rolling Stones. I've really tried for years, buying their seminal records, getting best of collections, but it just doesn't get me. They do however heavily appeal to my mother, that just might be the problem, it's a generation conflict.

Good rock I suppose but I never seem to be in the mood to listen to them.

Only WTSHNN ever made any impression on me from U2 Don't get me wrong, really like Coldplay and Politik, as you say, is a great tune. They just haven't really had an effect on me since Viva La Vida (which I love) and seem to be treading water the last 7 years. Just that I think - apart from Rattle and Hum, U2 had a sensational run of albums in the 80s and 90s. Anyway, to all Americans, who actually is the favourite for the Republican nomination?

Every U.S election since any of you have been born has been won by the party with the most financial backing from outside sources. Literally what is the point? Might as well not bother going to vote instead just look at who has the most money this time round and they'll be the ones to win. The only way politics and major parties actually represent the people will be when the money is taken out of it. Lobbying has destroyed the political spectrum.

Man fuck Jeb Bush.
I wish Rand was more like his father. He seems to have lost his soul/brain playing politics.
This next election is going to be really interesting though...

Beady’s Here Now, are you really linking to conspiracy theorist and overall nutjob Alex Jones's site, InfoWars? He thinks the US government was behind the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11. He thinks the EU and the Euro are Nazi plots, and thinks that scientists put cancer viruses inside of vaccinations in some form of governmental eugenics program. He's a fucking loon.

Everything I learned as an undergrad at GW. It's very unlikely we'll see a Democrat as President in 2016, but not impossible.Everything I've been saying for years. (NB, Romney was a victim of circumstance. Economy and O's approval up-ticked just enough at the right time). Political Science for the fucking win. www.nationaljournal.com/magazine/predictive-intelligence-20150213
