EDIT: Sods Law: After writing all of this, watch the Top Six Include all of Chelsea, Citeh, Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool, with the other team being the normal random over achiever, i.e., Everton). ---- ---- Seriously, though, what the actual fuck is going on this season? It's now safe to say that the new Era of the Premier League has now begun. The transfer of power complete. What once was an Arsenal/Man Utd Duopoly, and then briefly a Man Utd/Chelsea rivalry (with the occasional sprinkle of Arsenal and Liverpool competency, showing their waning yet remnant relevance), has now fully transitioned further. Keeping the Manchester/London passions ablaze, seasons' future will consist of Chelsea and Man City sharing the spoils. And, despite all of this, there are still people claiming money hasn't destroyed the beautiful game? Really? But where did it all go wrong? And how did it all go wrong, for all these once Mammoths of the game (bar Spurs, mind)? Further, still, how and why is this all happening at the exact same time with their completely depleted influence all simultaneously combusting during the exact same season? 1. Champions - Chelsea:
Have the title already, and may (probably will, actually) become the New Invincibles. 2. Runners Up - Man City:Citeh second, for sure. Clinging on to a title challenge, atm. But they'll drop points, and Chelsea are too damn good. 3. Third - Unknown [But Increasingly Unlikely for Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, & Spurs]:Third is starting to look difficult: In season's gone by around this time of the season, the likes of Southampton, Newcastle (fair play to their resurgence), West Ham, etc. would begin to fade. It always happens, without fail. The several surprises in the first third or first half of the season at the Top of the Table, ultimately lose steam around Christmas. In fact, it was Southampton again, last season, who exploded from the start, which works as a perfect case study for this repeated annual Premier League pattern - By this time last year (Nov 9) Soton were also Third with 22 pts ( www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24783128), but less than a month later (Dec 3), they fell to Eight ( www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25115885), which proved to be the position where they finished the season. I expect these run-of-the-mill Mid-Table teams to fade again. Actually, I know they will. But will it be noticed this season? Will Arsenal, et al. be able to capitalized? I'm not too sure. If there is a surprise in the Top 4 this season (Think, as an example, Soton), it will be more down to the piss poor form of the now-dormant giants. 4. Fourth - Unknown [One of Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham.....Pick Your Poison] I was going to try to limit the selection here further, but I can't. Each of these four three teams (Edit: I eliminated Spurs below) are as equally as woeful as one another: I wanted to first say Arsenal, because Wenger now has a NINE-YEAR habit of digging himself out of craters almost as equally as huge as present. And theirs no doubting that this is the strongest group of players since the 2007/08 Season when finished 3rd, only 4pts off the pace. But structurally and tactically, things are very wrong. I was then going to say, ok Man Utd then: They have a very potent strike force now, and a point to prove from last season. They currently occupy the position - although that means Nowt because only 6 (SIX!) Points separates 4th and 15th. Early days, yet. But defensively, and ultimately collectively, this is the worst Utd team in eons. Worse than Moyes' contingent last season. Whereas Arsenal may have the better quality of players, Utd have the better managerial tactician. Even-Steven still, for who will finish in the sacred Top 4. Then I considered Liverpool. Decent and likeable manager. Squad really should be performing better. Other than the departure of Surazez (and the imminent impact of Sturridge's injury), I haven't had the time to analyze what's gone wrong with Liverpool beyond that. Not looking good, though, is it? And lastly, perhaps Tottenham? Actually, I'm going to eliminate them from Top-4 Contenders (As a Gooner, remember when the term we were concerned about instead was "Title Contenders"? How we have fallen). And it's not because I'm an Arsenal fan (I hate Chelsea a helluva ton more). They were always on the fringe of the Top 4. But now, coincidentally and funnily enough - they are on the Fringe of the Fringe of those that are on the Fringe of the Top 4. How that aligned to come together like that in one season, I will never understand). Conclusion:Is the Premier League over as we know it? Will this become like the Scottish Football League, with Chelsea and Man City taking the place of Rangers and Celtic by trading off as Champions for the next Thirty Years? The script is still currently being written, but it's no William Shakespeare fairy tale; the sleeping giants need to wake up. After all, as the old sage adage goes: The league table does not lie.

Is the premier LEAUGE over as we know it ?? no it's been over for awhile now ......chelsea and man city won't rule the next 30 years , they will only rule til the next billionaire russian or Arab take over a team and spend millions to make them instant " legends ". I mean a decade ago city were 1st division.and not in premiere leauge every year , And chelsea were contenders with bates and company but never a juggernaut , the old days have long been gone. Arw he days where a blackburn can win. But chelsea and city and I love city. But the old city. Not this bunch of millionaires , Chelsea and city will only rule til the next team gets a " Golden goose " sad The leauge was more enjoyable for me in the 90 s and early 2000s

It's still so early. Man City were down this big a year ago. Look how that turned out. Also remember Arsenal, they were in 1st place basically the entire season. Shit happens. Roll with it......bitch.

Come on Southampton!
Theres too much money in the EPL..gone are the times when players like Maldini, Del Piero etc existed..those players are almost all gone, now its just - join the club who offers me the most money.
Loyal players still exist but theyre very hard to come across..
Yes that was off topic lol

If I was an oldie who fancy a kickabout I would be playing in lower Italian league... personally, I work for IT company but If tesco would double the money I earn now I m off to filling up shelves straight away

Also remember Arsenal, they were in 1st place basically the entire season. Shit happens. Roll with it......bitch. I'd rather not remember that. Only this Arsenal team could go from dominating the league table for almost 4 months last season, to not only falling to a struggling 4th by season's end, but also then falling further into Mid-Table medicority fodder. 'the fuck?

Tonight, I’m again proud of a Manchester United team.
There may be trouble ahead…but tonight is a good night.

Reading about a potential return to first team football from woman abuser Greenwood at Man United. Disappointment to say the least.

Reading about a potential return to first team football from woman abuser Greenwood at Man United. Disappointment to say the least. Astonished by how much backing he has had on Twitter and social media generally. I wondered if it was a PR thing where his handlers mass generated loads of fake accounts to try engineer a false social proofing in his favour. I don't know how anyone can watch that clip and feel okay with it regardless of what the law has decided.
