I'm not sure if this counts but last week I heard She's Electric playing in a sandwich shop, presumably on the radio. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

Not a play of an Oasis song, but the morning hosts on one of the radio stations here in Boston just spent 10 minutes talking about how Wonderwall became the first song from the 90's and only the second song from before 2000 that hit 1 billion streams. It quickly turned into a debate about how much they dislike Wonderwall (one host likes it, the other says it is their worst song, despite saying he likes Oasis overall). I stopped fighting on this debate. As I said, in another thread, "Wonderwall" will always remain one of the most unfairly criticized songs, ever. We're talking about a britpop/chamber pop 90's song that still gets mocked in an era where Ed Sheeran releases music. There's nothing you can do about it.

The album version of Champagne Supernova this morning, Live Forever one of the other past weeks. They lost lots of money this year on advertising because of people driving less, so a bunch of alt stations across the country let go of their local staff and it's just one big national station with all the call signs still intact now. Going to be less Wonderwall now with them trying out programming blocks.

On BBC Radio 2's Popmaster this morning (popular music quiz), the bonus questions were on Oasis.
I imagine everyone here will get them!
They played a cover of Wonderwall from 95, who sang it? Mike Flowers Pops
They played a clip of Little By Little, asked what the other a-side was...
Played a clip of a 1997 number 1 single, just the end section...and asked what it was. D'you know what I Mean was their only #1 in 97 so you'd get it without hearing!

Which song kept wonderwall from #1?

"You know when you’re playing music so loudly that other people can fully hear the song and they’re like, ‘Why are you doing this?’ And I’m like, ‘This is the level that I need to hear Oasis at right now'"So true.

The sports radio station here in Boston just played Fuckin' In the Bushes coming back from break, followed by a few minutes of Oasis talk. One of the DJ's said that he loved "Who Built the Moon?", while the other predictably said he loved Liam's last album, though he didn't name it or any songs (I say predictably because the pair contradict each other all the time just for ratings). Unexpected talk to say the least.

Just heard "Boy With the Blues" on ITV Racing, surely a contender for the most underappreciated Oasis song.

Just heard "Boy With the Blues" on ITV Racing, surely a contender for the most underappreciated Oasis song. It's only got 300-some-thousand plays on Spotify, and would've been a great close to the Oasis discography (the intro even lines up with Soldier On's outro). It's a shame it didn't get used for DOYS and never got played by Beady Eye. It had a bit of a John Lennon influence but it sounded distinctly Liam (sort of like Soul Love and Bold).

Not radio but saw a new Halifax advert today and it had Stand By Me used! Slightly surprising because you don't really hear SBM casually these days in the UK.

Champagne Supernova on Z103 Fergus Falls the other day! Then about literally two minutes later, I heard It's a Beautiful World on 89.1 Ken's FM. Was so hyped about it.

Don't know what company that is, but as a whole I don't really like hearing songs I love in TV ads. I actually heard Whatever before getting into the band because it was on a TV ad for a fuckin' bank. It does piss me off so much that's the way I heard this amazing tune the first time ahah. I don't know if Noel is the one who decides if a song of the band does go into an ad or not, but if that's the case, I'm not a fan of that kind of move. Especially since Oasis was such a massive selling band so they don't need that in the slightest.

Seems odd indeed but it's good if it might get someone into Oasis if they like the song from the ad and then they search their other stuff etc. Saw a few comments on the SBM YouTube comments, "Here because of Halifax" etc.

It's strange why the song is being used in an add like this. The ad itself (not the music) is stupid though as when you watch it you wouldn't even know that it's a Halifax ad until the very end.

Sports radio station here in Boston just played "Some Might Say" as the rejoin coming back from commercial, after one of the host said that he is really in to Oasis currently. Always nice to hear some Oasis talk on the radio.

Not the radio, but Ricky Hatton's son Campbell Hatton made his pro boxing debut tonight and used Fuckin in the Bushes for his ring walk music.

I was watching a German quiz show (Wer weiß denn sowas?) and the answer had something to do with champagne. "Nice melody, sounds somewhat familiar ..." Ah, silly me, that was an instrumental part from "Champagne Supernova". Nice effort for them to use that!

I work at Morrisons over the weekends and I'm always hearing Acquiesce and Wandering Star on the playlist. Highlights of my shift! Particularly when I'm singing every word of WS and others haven't got a clue.
