After seeing the new MBP thinking about getting a 2015 with some AppleCare. From a thread from yesterday............. The previous night my MacBook randomly shutoff. I restarted it and some weird coding text appeared in the upper left of the boot up screen. Then it would restart on its own and back to the coding text. Repeat over and over. The guy at the Genius Bar ran a diagnostic test. Turns out it failed on the flash storage drive. The repair estimate was $570 for a new flash storage drive. I'm 3 months out of the 1 year warranty. I raised hell that Apple should cover the cost. After all it's a brand new MacBook from last summer in mint condition. The solid state hard drive was a big selling point for Apple last year. Extremely reliable and never crashes. I claimed poor craftsmanship. A hard drive like that shouldn't just completely die 15 months later. They said to me, with a smugness, "should have purchased Apple care". I told them I never do because when I buy Apple products I expect them to last based on my previous MacBook Pro (2007), iPad mini and 2 iPhones. Never an issue. They literally couldn't care less. "Should have purchased Apple care". Thanks guys. I'm a brand loyal costumer. Nice to be costumer loyal back. I was upset. Lost everything on that computer. Granted some stuff was backed up on an external HD but whatever. They had no compassion for my loss. "Should have purchased Apple care". Like a god damn commercial. Later that night I decided to call Apple care myself. Explain what happened to my 15 month old cutting edge laptop. Told them a flash storage drive shouldn't die that soon or if ever in a 10 year span. I said it was probably defective on some level. I was put thru to a senior manager who was very sympathetic and setup a group conference call at the Apple Store for tomorrow morning. They are gonna try and work with me to cover the $570 repair. I hope it goes well tomorrow.

Yeah, I saw your post yesterday. Some really bad luck. Almost half the cost of the machine for a drive failure. I've never bought the warranty either but am worried because this is going to be my first computer without a spinning disk. I need to invest in a new computer, but have ZERO cash at the moment. If the 2010 I'm using right now didn't have a broken dedicated graphics card, I wouldn't be looking to upgrade.

I had a 10 am appointment at the Genius Bar. He phone conferenced in. He explained to the Genius Bar technician to go ahead with the $570 repair to replace the failed flash storage drive. He said it's not normal that it would fail that soon after its creation and Apple would cover it all as a one time costumer satisfaction benefit. So that was awesome. I should get it back in 2-3 days. All the important stuff was backed up but I did have around 9-10 months worth of music I didn't have a chance to back up. Anyone know a good 3rd party app that can rip music off an iPhone and onto a Mac hard drive? I need to reverse engineer this shit.

Couldn't you just download your library from the desktop client?

Maybe it's just me, but the thumbnails randomly disappeared. on your phone? ios should be 10.1.1 I believe. Some of the updates were itunes related. Some my downloaded albums not from itunes, don't have album covers appear, You can manually add them discussions.apple.com/thread/2301439?start=0&tstart=0

Wow, the prices on those now aren't that bad. I paid 425 with free shipping. 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5. Just a few light scratches on the lid non screen side.No dents or anything else. I only had 4 GB RAM stick, which I put in. 6 GB of RAM is an odd number, but mac never goes past 6 really.

Still going to need to buy all those dongles. While macbook pro is thinner pockets are heavier with dongles. I'm happy with my late 2012 macbook pro and my job one, which is late 2015 version. Extra 2 minutes to whipped out a dongle and usb stick to make a iso equals the time for a very slightly faster processor.

Crash any iPhone or iPad with this terrible iOS bug by a corrupted .mp4 file.
There is a massive bug in Apple iOS that allows you to completely lock up any iOS device like an iPhone 6, iPhone 7 or iPad by simply clicking a URL and playing a corrupt .mp4 video. I tried this on every device I could find with 100% success and it's mind

Even better... They're paying you to buy old stock. But $799 for a 13" Air is a good deal
