to be fair, Obama is dealing with an absolutely ridiculous republican party....but yes, his presidency has been an overall disappointment. but to also be fair, i'd rather have him than any republican. *note - things can get ugly around here especially around the time of U.S. presidential elections...i've told a few people that I hope they die in a tire fire during the last election and don't regret it at all. Thanks. He had full control of both chambers for his first 2 years. 2010 was a referendum on his poor performance, and 2014 will be, too - GOP has a great chance to control both chambers. That's down simply to poor Obama and Dem performance. Very similar to 2006 when the Dems took control with Bush as President. Expect to see a Republican president in 2016.....The pattern is set. Obama's Presidency can be summed up aptly with this Oasis lyric: Now you understand that this is not the promised land they spoke of. Obama was all hype. Saw it from day 1. A real damn shame that Romney comes across as so robotic. If voters saw him as empathetic, 2012 was there for the taking. i seriously don't see a republican getting elected for a very long time... unless the democratic nominee ends up offending large numbers of people like the fucking idiot Mitt Romney did. it's not 1950, the world's changing rapidly and the vast majority of people want that change. Thanks.

Japan was on the war path, they clearly wanted to dominate the Pacific Ocean and all the lands within it. A conflict with Japan was inevitable. FDR however could not have planned for Germany's stupidity by declaring war on the USA in December 1941. Hitler should have just left that an American-Japan conflict. Most Americans at that time didn't have any beef with Germany, especially since most of America at the time was of German decent and still is to this very day.

Oh I absolutely agree , I'm a political science graduate , it was one of the 3 big blunders that hitler did. that axis power agreement screwed him , he should have left England alone , and if he let Stalin have his part of the world Germany would have had continental Europe , and would FDR got involved if the UK was in no danger ? As for tje letting Japan bomb us , I don't subscribe to it ,,,but many do , they show evidence that our radar picked up the armada and it was ignored ,,,do I agree ? No , but it's out there

England was always planning to save Europe. A war with Russia was going to happen anyway. Both nations had massive troops piled up at the Polish boarder. Eventually someone would cross it. I can see why Hitler rushed to declare war on America. He definitely believed Germany would conquer Russia by the end of 1941 or fall 1942. Giving Germany plenty of time to brace for America, especially since it took the USA a full year to mobilize and send troops over seas. He rolled the dice and paid the price.

Don't forget the Manhattan project and reason it was started, because Albert Einstein urge FDR to develop an atomic bomb before Germans did.

When Germany failed to capture Moscow in the winter if 1941, Hitler sacked practically his entire high command and put himself personally in charge of military decisions. If you happen to notice, Germany had very few victories after this drastic change. Before that, they had hardly any defeats. His generals stressed patience when dealing with Russia. He wanted instant results. That was never going to happen. He doomed his empire by making this bold change of face. On the flip side, Russia was getting crushed because Stalin wanted to call all the shots when Germany invaded. It resulted in defeat after defeat after defeat. It wasn't until the very end of 1941, early 1942 that Stalin backed down and let his generals control and run military affairs. If you notice, Russia never looked back and had victory after victory after victory. Part of building an empire is surrounding and trusting the people around you. One man can't do it all alone nor should.

Hitler broke the pact by starting Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of Soviet-held territories that's when Soviets went after Germans. Before Japan, Germany and Soviets all had a pact together.

But let's face it , did Obama win like 99 percent of the black vote for his politics ? No way ,.., same applies there has never been a Latino in office , he will be there first viable candidate , he will win at least 80 percent of the Latino turnout no matter his party affiliation and I don't like that , but it's true

How Italy became a player is laughable , as a Italian I can tell you Italy ain't done good in the war department since Rome fell . Oh your talking about the soviet , sino , German pact sorry Rain. Yes that pact was brokered Stalin never liked it , in his memoirs he wrote he knew hitler would betray him ..it's a fascinating read

Germany could have swept England right out of Africa and the Middle East. All Rommel needed was another Panzer division at worst. Remember he only ever commanded an Army Corps. Imagine something bigger? Losing Africa would be a major blow for the Allies plans of establishing a 2nd front.

And as for the above: 1. Bush Jr. had the highest approval rating recorded. You had the "Rally Around the Flag" effect after 9/11. But he also handled the immediate aftermath of 9/11 incredibly well. W's first term was strong. His 2nd term he botched, to be sure - he became a lame duck in 2006, though, following the Dem's control of both chambers. Now where do we see this happening again? Hmm..... 2. As for FDR - it was WWII that turned the economy around, NOT his leftist policies that Obama desired to mimic to such disastrous effects. Approval ratings mean diddly squat - they always go through the roof when there's national grieving going on. Tony Blair shot up to 97% in 1997 after Princess Diana died, and everyone - quite rightly - fucking hates him. George W Bush was an awful president. I don't think he was a thicko - I just can't believe that a President could be thick. But he leaves two legacies behind - Iraq and the global financial crisis. The latter is indefensible, and I hear some ridiculous arguments all pro-Iraq. Whether you were pro war or not, they fucked up badly. There was no regard whatsoever about the Iraqi civilians and society. They blew the fucking lid off sectarian tensions and it's as violent as it ever was. If the Republicans want to win the Presidency, they will have to move more to the centre of the ideological spectrum than they ever have. Instead, the elites in the party are moving them ever further to the right, which is a guaranteed way to lose. Amazingly, the party themselves are made up of a majority of politicians who are quite rational and think in the middle ground, but it's those at the top of the party who lead the opinions. Until there's a change, the maniacal discourse will continue.

After that war between them was inevitable. Hitler just tried to beat them to the punch.

George W. Bush finally admits that Iraq war was unjustified and brutal in a moment of honesty following guilty Freudian slip.
Amazing. Conservatives must be pulling their hair out.

So damn strange that American's are all hot and bothered by Putin's illegal invasion and occupation of Ukraine, meanwhile a former president and war criminal guilty of doing the same shit which resulted in 20 years of war can accidentally admit to the offense and nobody here bats an eye over it. They literally just laugh it off.
The man is a war criminal and will go free, despite starting something which has resulted in at least a million deaths. But I guess when America does it, it's okay.
