WOW I remember all that. Had no idea it was all still there, somewhere on the web. Shocking. But I remember a lot of those names, just haven't thought about them in ages of course. I started out on Inet back in 2000 in the fall, just after I got SOTSOG. Then was redirected onto Oa515 in 2001 because thats where all the live recordings were. I remember my first live song downloads: Columbia from Knebworth 1996 and Supersonic from Glastonbury 1995. First gig was Noel gets to the Point. I learnt a lot about Oasis in those days, its what made me a serious fan, being able to connect with others and learn about bsides and all thing Gallagher. 515 became a mental asylum around 2003 or 04, hijacked by a lot of trolls. So from there I went to the Masterplan forum which later became Stop the Clocks, and then I was there until I came here. It's been quite the trip. I have to say, I really enjoy being able to talk with you people, the online Oasis community. Most people in "real life" don't have a clue about the band so its nice to be able to connect with people who share the same passion. Keep the dream alive

The only other website I used to be an active member on was The Masterplan Forum. I can't remember the years but I'm pretty certain it was around the time of HC and onward. There were a lot of good people on there. That was my primary Oasis forum until it shut down. I was a pretty big troll on Inet back in the day too. Not proud if it now but I probably had over twenty accounts banned and had many impostors.

from there I went to the Masterplan forum which later became Stop the Clocks, I forget about that. Some of the mods had a difference of opinion and mostly everyone went over to STC if my memory is correct.

Keep the dream alive I was a member of oa515, but real first place for me was oasisfanatic 2002 or real early 2003. I found it through inet. I do remember from oa515 StrawberryLemonade, pitty, gaspanicker, R.K.I.D.,ShineOn909 A lot of people I met early days was from the original masterplan forum and morphed to the soapbox. I think this history shouldn't be forgotten. All the Noel Gallagher fan sites out there now, but long time ago there was noelrock.com from 1999-2006 site and forum 2003 web.archive.org/web/20030423183428/http://www.noelrock.com/web.archive.org/web/20030206091637/http://www.noelrock.com/forum/Funny the big announcement oasis exhibit yesterday? There was one in 2005 web.archive.org/web/20050324031615/http://noelrock.com/

I was never part of the Masterplan forum. I created an account in another forum way way back before joining L4E when I was looking for bootlegs. Can quite remember the name of the forum, something like oasisforum.org, but it defo wasn't TM

I was a member of the Masterplan forum and I think there was another really popular Oasis website...I could be making that up, RadioSupersonic or something...?
this is the only forum I really frequent and am a member of....I'm also a member of a hair message board, but I rarely check that anymore and I occasionally check a shaving forum, and haven't done that for awhile
I also occasionally read the new Oasis forum for total comedy relief.
Thanks.

Pretty interesting, the history of the forums.
I joined this one back in 2008 and it's the only Oasis forum I've ever been a part of, though I've known of others like the Soapbox, The Masterplan, INET, and the new one of course.

It's so interesting. Looking back why did this one survive ? While the others didn't ? This is one dysfunctional place at times. . yet for whatever the reason we all come back , remain , some of those other places were popular I wasn't a member but I heard of them especially masterplan , yet this place survived the breakup , intersting really , says a lot

After oasisforum went out many members went to oasis ultimate, but the Webmistress at that time didn't want them there, because she didn't want the culture of the forum to change. Also, the same time Webmaster Kablepunk sat up the soapbox. web.archive.org/web/20041212124032/http://www.oasis-news.com/Live4ever bought out oasis-news.com btw the soapbox web.archive.org/web/20041010011431/http://www.the-soapbox.net/forums/

Not just one, the entire lot.

There's the Whatever mailing list. Probably predates most of the forums on here. Was part of that from around 1996 until it slowly died out around, oh, 2001 or 2002. I know it was started around either '94 or '95.
Occasionally used to post on AMO (alt.music.oasis).
Had an account at TMP, never really posted there. Never really got huge into the forums until Oasisforum. After that, I was around for all the incarnations of The Soapbox. Had an account at OasisFanatic but the majority of regulars there (minus a few people) were assholes.
edit: Wouldn't this thread be better suited to one of the oasis related sub-forums than the lounge? just sayin'..

I remembered visiting alt.music.oasis. Oasisfanatic had some assholes and soapbox did or does too. Through the years this forum has too. It happens all forums and places when it's an open community base forums. Everyone forgot IRC channel back in day when it was popular. I remember Watson and Kjones Bootleg.org.uk. I was a member there web.archive.org/web/20050210043620/http://www.bootleg.org.uk/forum web.archive.org/web/20040904163954/http://forums.bootleg.org.uk/Looking at the archive.og I forgot Howdo was a member as well
