^^Not so sure if I'd say "fuck Shakermaker" as its one of their lesser hits and they didnt play it in almost 10 years.
The reason why I put AATW first is because it would just mess with people's heads. You'd have some people leaving for drinks during the first song. It's a bit self-sabotage but moreso reconstructing themselves as a live band. It is, in my opinon, a ballsy move for a band that seem to play it too safe too often.

Seen as it's purely in the interest of speculation and fantasy, here's mine. Intro - Fuckin' In The Bushes 1. D'You Know What I Mean 2. Acquiesce 3. The Hindu Times 4. Hung In A Bad Place 5. I Hope, I Think, I Know 6. The Fame 7. Some Might Say 8. Go Let It Out 9. I'm Outta Time 10. Stop Crying Your Heart Out ACOUSTIC BREAK 11. Rockin' Chair (I think this would work, Liam singing, Andy on keys, Gem & Noel on guitars) 12. Don't Go Away (Noel solo) 13. Where Did It All Go Wrong (Jools Holland version) 14. Idler's Dream (Noel playing on guitar, Gem or Andy on keys) RESUME 15. The Masterplan 16. A Quick Peep/(Probably) All In The Mind (A Quick Peep as an intro of sorts) 17. Hey Now! 18. Turn Up The Sun 19. Lyla ENCORE - Can You See It Now? playing during the break 20. It's Gettin' Better (Man!) 21. Cigarettes & Alcohol 22. Champagne Supernova 23. Fade Away I say fuck Wonderwall, fuck DLBIA, fuck Shakermaker, fuck Live Forever, Roll With It and all the other "safe bet" songs. I want to see something different. I've only include a couple of songs which are absolutely unmissable and I even struggled to include one or two of them. I've included some of the other songs that I think would be great live as well as one or two that have never been played live, just cos I think they'd be mega. I've only got Noel singing 5 songs cos he's not the singer (and two of those are acoustic). EDIT: I think this is a set list that would "ditch whatever impression people had of them as a live band and crush any expectations". Throw in 'Take Me Away' and you've sold me

Apart from the intro....a chronological rundown from early stuff to latter day. And not always going for the obvious tunes although you have to have a few. Yeah, you could argue the set is top heavy with the 'classics' weighted at the start, but what the hell. A few strong 'uns at the end too methinks. It's supposed to be a 'ballsy' set after all, and this setlist would rip me fuckin' head off.
Intro - Fuckin' In The Bushes Columbia Supersonic Up In The Sky Slide Away Listen Up Some Might Say Headshrinker
(Noel acoustic spot): Talk Tonight Cast No Shadow Don't Look Back In Anger (could be with band....might be nice without actually...will still sound massive)
Champagne Supernova (now I'll admit this next part of the show gets rather epic/drawn out....obviously we've just had Champagne and now we're at the BHN era so it's all those long songs together...a bit much? Nah!) D'You Know What I Mean? I Hope, I Think, I Know Stay Young All Around The World It's Gettin' Better Man Go Let It Out Where Did It All Go Wrong (acoustic....or at least toned down to sort of get a breather after the previous run of tunes) Roll It Over (ends the main set)
-----------------
The Hindu Times Hung In A Bad Place Shout It Out Loud Love Like A Bomb Lyla
----------------- Falling Down The Shock Of The Lightning

Throw in 'Take Me Away' and you've sold me I was going to but I decided against it for Rockin' Chair. I also wanted to include I Will Believe but thought it wouldn't sit right.

Ok, here we go! DYKWIM Intro Do You Know What I Mean? Married With Children The Masterplan Rock and Roll Star Shakermaker Hung In a Bad Place Round Are Way The Girl With The Dirty Shirt I Will Believe Better Man My Big Mouth Champagne Supernova -encore break 1- Hello Wonderwall Gas Panic Roll It Over -encore break 2- Live Forever Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? Don't Look Back In Anger Cigarettes and Alcohol All Around The World Goddamn what I would kill for this set. I had to have a good balance of hits and rarities considering they are all too fucking fantastic, haha Where the "ballsiness" comes in is in setlist arrangement, if you will. People underestimate how much the flow of a set is important. You can have the same ten songs rearranged in a different way and have a different outcome, etc. Long set, good flow, ups and downs. Everything my dream Oasis set would have. considering I never saw them live, I'd want to scream along to the hits as much as I'd want to see rarities. But thats just me

To be honest the idea of an Oasis gig where every song is six or seven minutes long sounds like a nightmare. The Be Here Now tour was a bit like that - six-and-a-half minutes of Fade In-Out is too much for me! Still, it's great fun coming up with the setlists and tracklists we'd like to see. I'm currently obsessed with coming up with an alternative Be Here Now with different tracks - and many of the longer ones edited down - that might just have lived up to the hype. Personally, I feel Oasis are at their best when they're delivering catchy pop-rock tunes that don't outstay their welcome. This^^^ You don't listen to Oasis for psychedlic, drug-induced improvisational jamming - you listen so you can sing along to that perfect fucking song that is so unbelievably catchy it makes you sick One does not simply listen to Oasis without singing along

I'd actually love them to play a lot of their Be Here Now material, like Magic Pie and Girl in the Dirty Shirt. Lennon2217 and I both agree the BHN tour was there best , they were tight Nd ther setlist was perfect balance of all 3 lps ..... The last tour and DBTT. I was so psyched up , for some suprises I thought maybe.some BHN. But Noel just seems to want to dismiss as his coke phase I know they have played some of it since , but it's almost like Noel wants to erase it , I rarely take sides in the brothers quarrels and usually see Noel's point because he is more analytical ,,,,but Liam has loved that lp since day 1 , it's my fav , I agree with u ! this^^^ seriously, Noel goes on about it sucking and this and that etc, but its not the songs. The songs were mostly as good as anything from the first two albums The problem was the TRACKS, ie the recorded versions of said songs as they appeared on BHN Why couldnt they have edited them a bit for the live arena? Seriously now, Noel.

The Swamp Song Acquiesce Columbia Morning Glory Cigarettes & Alcohol Shakermaker Fade Away Gas Panic D'You Know What I Mean? My Big Mouth Slide Away Step Out (noel on vocals) Hey Now! Cast No Shadow Listen Up
ACOUSTIC SET: (just noel and some light percussion)
Whatever Married With Children The Masterplan (rest of band join in for second chorus)
ELECTRIC SET CONT.
Live Forever Some Might Say Headshrinker Its Gettin' Better (Man...)
ENCORE :
Dont Look Back In Anger (no Liam) Rock n roll star (Liam swaggers on in intro) Champagne Supernova
I know this is unrealistic because Liam couldn't really sing Listen Up or Morning Glory to a particularly high standard, and I've only picked one song post-97, but i honestly feel all their later stuff suffers when compared to the older stuff.
Album division:
DM - 7 MG - 5 BHN - 3 B-SIDES - 7 SOTSOG - 1 OTHER - 1

Mine would be quite different to any usual Oasis setlist, mainly because I was bored shitless by Cigs and Alc and DLBIAetc for the 50th time and as the OP states it needs to shake the usual perception of Oasis. Plus you'd never get this setlist in a million years
Fuckin In The Bushes (intro) D'You Know What I Mean? My Big Mouth Bring It On Down Headshrinker Listen Up The Shock of the Lightning Slide Away Gas Panic! (It Good) To Be Free The Fame Let's All Make Believe Noel Acoustic Cast No Shadow Rockin Chair The Masterplan Full Band Morning Glory Stand By Me Roll It Over Live Forever

I made a playlist a few months back of what was likely to be included in a series of reunion gigs. Just the 6 gigs, two nights each, at Wembley, The Etihad in Manchester and Hamden Park Glasgow.
I went for what was most likely, rather than fantasy, pretty much including at least one track from each album:
Hello Lyla Acquiesce Roll With It Some Might Say The Masterplan Falling Down Sunday Morning Call Cigarettes & Alcohol Stand By Me Slide Away Listen Up Talk Tonight (electric) The Importance of Being Idle Little By Little Supersonic Champagne Supernova Rock N Roll Star Live Forever ------------------------------ Don't Look Back In Anger Wonderwall

Just like the Heaton Park gig I went to in 2009, after the last warm-up act has gone off (in this case, Paul Weller) musak is played over the tannoy for an exceedingly long time. Excitement and unrest sweeps over the field (Knebworth, of course) as Liam arrives by helicopter in ridiculously grandiose fashion, landing somewhere behind the stage, out of sight. After a while, the muzak fades out (I'm thinking something Bowie or I Am The Resurrection as the final tune to get the crowd going a bit) we have a 10...9...8... sequence that harks back to Knebworth, with footage of the band over the years replacing the scenes used in '96, of the band rehearsing and larking about. It's all very nostalgic for the diehards, but a little light relief is offered when we get to 1 and, expecting a famous shot like Noel urging the crowd at Maine Road to sing up, or Liam doing that weird arms-out squat he did when obviously a bit pissed still from the first night at Knebworth... ...the crowd instead gets a slow-mo of Liam and Noel pissing about, rubbing their nipples ( Frodis's avatar) on each of the big screens on the stage. This fades out too, and all the lights are turned down, pitching the field into total darkness (Oasis are either starting later than usual or its held in Autumn/Winter, I don't know, but it has to somehow be dark when the boys come on). Liam's chopper from before rumbles into life from behind the stage, and flies over the crowd, shining its spotlight over them. It disappears. The feedback at the start of D'YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? replaces it and just like the intro for the record, the drums and Noel's lead guitar comes in gradually. Spotlights illuminate them as they play. Liam comes in to sing the first verse "Step off the train all alone at dawn, back into the whole where I was born..." and now only him and the drummer can be seen. The rest is total darkness. A spotlight shines on Noel briefly when he plays the licks between the lines in the first verse. On Liam singing "I met my maker, I made him cry...", all the lights come on and the whole field is illuminated. Shots of the mass of people cover the screens when Liam and Noel sing "all my people right here, right now...". The stage stays lit for the rest of the song, except for Noel's epic guitar solo five minutes in, in which all the lights are dimmed again and only Noel is seen. All those funky sounds at the end of the track transition into COLUMBIA (which of course features some "Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!"s from Noel over the top of Liam's "Come on... come on..." growl). Now, I'm off to take a cold shower. I don't even know what else will be played, except, that there will be a Noel acoustic section in the middle (with Liam coming back on to sing Married With Children), a stirring rendition of Bonehead's Bank Holiday (with Bonehead and Liam providing the "la la la"s), a 12-minute Supernova that ends with one final thwack on the drums just like at Knebworth '96, and Rock 'n' Roll Star being played somewhere in the encore. Oh, and Liam and Noel will shout "WHAT FOR?!" at the end of Slide Away. Obviously.

Rather than having one fantasy setlist I just wish they changed the setlist about more.
Nine Inch Nails play completely dif songs every night ranging from greatest hits to obscure fan favourites. Jack White doesn't even have a set list - he just plays what he feels like on the spot.
I can't imagine touring the same setlist for 18 months. It's the antithesis of rock 'n' roll, must've became monotonous and rendered seeing them live multiple times on a tour pointless.
Imagine going to see Oasis three times on a tour and on the first night they open with Rock 'n' Roll Star, the second night with D'you Know What I Mean and on the third night Morning Glory... and you wouldn't have a clue what they were going to play next... Epic

Epic Couldn't agree more I saw NIN twice this year on their UK tour and the set list except for a three or four was completely different and even those songs were in a different place. Oasis were ridiculously lazy especially when you consider when back catalogue they had. I mean would have really hurt them to say 'do you know what let's just play Go Let It Out tonight?!'

Where did you see NIN beentherenow? I've seen them 6 times. Saw them at the tiny Scala last year as the warm up for Reading fest which was pretty special. Back to Oasis - I was dissapointed when Noel kept a fairly rigid setlist at the start of his tour, but he loosened up towards the end so I was really lucky to see Spaceman, Angel Child and Idler's Dream. Hopefully he does more of that this time round - it's not as if he even needs to rehearse songs with the band he can throw literally anything in as a solo acoustic number! Hopefully he plays longer sets too. Well established artists like Springsteen and Dylan will play 3 hour shows, there's no need for Noel to stick to a 1.5 hour set when he has such a huge back catalogue to draw from...

My "'Ballsy'" fantasy setlist:
1. Fuckin' in the Bushes (live, with Liam saying the opening "We put this festival on you bastards, with a lot of love..." part; would be badass) 2. Hello 3. Columbia 4. Up in the Sky 5. Bring it on Down 6. Alive 7. Listen Up (with the original guitar solo, not the shortened one) 8. Acquiesce 9. Cast No Shadow 10. Underneath the Sky (Liam on acoustic, Noel on lead guitar, Gem on piano, Andy on bass) 11. Don't Go Away (brass & strings section included)
--Noel Lead Vocal Set--
12. The Girl in the Dirty Shirt 13. I Hope I Think I Know 14. Force of Nature 15. Step Out 16. The Importance of Being Idle 17. Going Nowhere (brass & strings section included) 18. One Way Road 19. Shout it Out Loud 20. Part of the Queue 21. Where Did it All Go Wrong (semi-acoustic)
--End Noel Lead Vocal Set--
22. Gas Panic! (usual drum loop augmented with live drums & strings section; turns into a jam at the end) 23. Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is (shortened, with actual live choir) 24. The Roller (cuz why not?) 25. Go Let it Out (with an actual flute player, instead of Mellotron) 26. Born on a Different Cloud 27. Turn Up the Sun 28. Thank You for the Good Times (Andy acoustic) 29. Eyeball Tickler 30. Keep the Dream Alive
--Encore I, DOYS portion--
31. To Be Where There's Life (with the Eastern instruments, and all; bass guitar being the only guitar) 32. Bag it Up (with plastic explosive sound effects) 33. The Turning (choir to go with) 34. (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady (Noel & Liam duet to mix it up) 35. (I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine (badass version with the good bassline, guitar solo, guitars, and Liam vocals; the 8 minute version basically)
--Encore II--
36. Who Feels Love 37. I Can See a Liar 38. All Around the World (brass and strings section added) 39. Let There Be Love 40. Idler's Dream (no guitars, just keyboards) 41. Champagne Supernova 42. Roll it Over (full band, Liam vocals with backup choir)
An ambitious 42 songs that has a reasonable balance of each and every album with some familiar tunes, along with some rarities, fan favorites, and forgotten ones.
(It's really amazing to make these faux setlists and see how much material Oasis had to choose from to do their live shows)
