Face the Crowd belongs on DGSS, and it would even rank amongst the worst on that album, too, such is the utter fuckwittery of that track.
Face the Crowd and Shine A Light (fucking irritating bullshit filler song) are the worst two on the album and need to fuck off in place of Off At The Next Exit and Back from the Break (or Evil Eye....or The World's Not Set In Stone).
Horrible decision.

When has a last song on a Gallagher album ever been a single?! It's just not the formula. Doesn't bode well for Start Anew.
FTC is not a good example of a great Beady Eye song & for that reason shouldn't be a single.
I'm not saying I don't like the song I just can't see them playing it on the Xfactor!!

All I ever see is you defending even the shittiest of the shitfest.

Horrible decision. good point and i believe that almost everyone agree with you. BE, including 3 track of the bonus material, would be in another level,it would be the perfect album. "face the crowd" is just a good b side.no single material, dont fit even as an album track (in BE). "Shine A Light" is another case.i thought it was s**t, but somehow i love that tune, its different parts, production, melodies.its a strong album track.it could even be an interesting single! Off At The Next Exit, Back from the Break & Evil Eye...could make the perefect 3rd beady eye album. crazy choices anyway.good morning everyone and dont dare to release "face the crowd" as a sin gle!

Face the crowd not been in the festival set lists says to me that is unlikely to be a single. Ironic since LAG said it will be fantastic when played live. Not really they have a shorter set for festivals so they are only playing the new songs they think best sell the album, alongside a few from Different Gear & the Oasis songs. I was at the Ritz and the Face The Crowd went down very, very well. It's not in my top five on the album but it did go down well live. Not seeing how it been part of the tour set list but not the festival setlist has anything at all to do with if it is fantastic when played live? Common sense must tell you that with a shorter set time they have to stick to singles, the Oasis songs and the songs they see as the best selling points for the album. Don't see any irony at all in that to be honest

So is this official or what? Face The Crowd single #2? Not in the slightest. The only official word on single number two is they did a video for it a few week ago. The song, release date, B'side and everything else is pretty much pure speculation.

I don't think they choose Face The Crowd or Shine a Light as the single. After all, they probably have ears and eyes...

If you count radio singles, Champagne Supernova too. Ah Let There Be Love! I forgot about that. The exception to the rule.

The fact that they put IJS between 2 classics in festival makes me think/hope it could be the single.
But they should release the new single already.
The promotion of this album has truly been awfull, no wonder it didn't sell well. If they release face the crow, they're just sabotaging themself.

And you like the songs you like, you don't like the songs you don't like, you feel apathetic towards the songs you feel apathetic towards, you up for songs that are "singles" and you down for songs that are "fillers", you listen and absorb the songs you want to absorb and say "fuck the album format" just give me the choons, man-- so who gives a fuck, right? I'm sure that guy from the Queens of the Stone Age is slitting his wrist at the moment for making a good record but failed to release the right track of that new record CAUSE IT TOTALLY DIMINISH THE QUALITY OF THE ALBUM, MAN!!! ...In other words, who gives a fuck, and does it really matter to you if indeed a fuck is given.)

Have to say, I don't get why everyone is so negative about this song, think its got a good swagger and would sound great on the radio. That and Iz rite / I'm Just saying are the only singles that could grab attention imo. Although I think the buying public have abandoned this band, even after an amazing Glastonbury the sales did nothing.....which surprises me as the crowd was enormous and everyone round me was saying how great they were and they never knew about them. Since then I have heard lots of comments saying what a great live band they are and perhaps thats the issue, they are seen as something fun to go see live, but not buy the cd.

Horrible decision. I rather like "Shine A Light". Love the intro and the driving pace of the tune. Reminds me of something Primal Scream would do over the last 4-5 years. However, it most definitely isn't single material. My choice is still "I'm Just Saying".
