Love the song. Liam's delivery is perfect. For some reason I really love the repetition of "Did you ever loan me that song?" right at the end. Never usually a fan of repeating the first line as the last line but it sounds lovely here, can't explain why

This songs grown on me massively, however every time I hear that last chord ring out I keep expecting 'so it goes' by the verve to come on next, listen to 'on your own' and you will understand

Me too, but some people made me modify my artwork for that haha Interesting and didn't you say Gem might have written Back After the Break and Off At the Next Exit as well? If so then Gem's had a pretty good album. I thought he was the weakest songwriter out of LAG but Ballroom is sweet and the bonus tracks are great as well

Yeh and I wouldn't be surprised if the "are you giving me up?" and "the more you fade away" bits were about Andy's divorce like Four Letter Word and possibly Soon Come Tomorrow

I've loved it from the first listen and still do now. I thought it was Liams though and another one about Oasis/Noel and it sounded a lot more poignant then to me back then. Most of the lines in the song sound like they had something to do with Noel or Oasis and the melancholy sound of it all really made it special for me. I was 17 when the band split and they'd been pretty damn important to me through my teen years so I was obviously really sad when it was over and the first listen of this reminded me of that and made it special. I still love the song knowing it's Gems and most likely about something else completely though mind you
