GNR was a great band...Say what you will about Axl but he was a very good songwriter and was a lot more diverse in his vocal deliveries than Liam's standard mid tempo deliveries.
Oh and this band doesn't quite have a Slash or Izzy...so yeah wishful comparison innit.

Izzy is one of the great underrated songwriters in the history of music.
GNR are the only band I love anywhere near as much as I do Oasis or The Beatles. If this album has a GNR vibe then that can only be a good thing for me.
Be Here Now had a lot of GNR influence, Noel said it while they were making it and you can hear it in places.

i would say, that i'm more a nirvana fan, altough years ago i was a gunners fanatic! i learned the songs on the guitar, looked like them etc. but now i really got to love the rawness and sometimes noisy stuff of Nirvana. more energy for me. But hell yeah i do love Izzy Stradlin! on of the best songwriters in this time of music. "14 years", "dust'n'bones", the whole appetite for destruction were mostly ideas from izzy. love his solo stuff too. And we know what happend to guns n roses when he left and gilby clarke came on board. one weak punk cover album and the fast self destruction. i dare to say, that Izzy was the main member of Guns'n'Roses.
