Did you not read that at secondary school? I thought everyone did. That and Of Mice and Men. Nope, we did OMAM though. I can remember almost nothing from Of Mice And Men apart from the glove. What does that say about me??

Currently reading The Road by Cormack McCarthy. Just finished a funny little book called Very British Problems. Very British Problems sounds similar to a book I read a while ago - Watching the English. It was a great read, very entertaining, but probably very similar. Last book I read was The Stars Shine Down by Sidney Sheldon. Been getting into Sheldon's work recently.

The Numbers Game - Why Everything You Know About Football is Wrong. Fascinating maths book. Might be a bit of crossover in terms of content, but Soccernomics is a great book too.

I'm reading "The Fallen - Life in and out of Britain's most insane group" by Dave Simpson. This part sounded familiar: "This is my morning ritual. ... Then read about The Fall. My favorite place for doing this is ... the Official Webiste Fall Forum where like-minded Fall nutters discuss the burning issues of the day, such as the best way to photograph a set list from a gig at Huddersfield Cleopatra's Club on Friday, 12 September 1980 ..." P.40 I don't really know The Fall apart from a Best of so far, I'm reading this because I love reading about bands and the crazier the stories the better! RIP Mark E. Smith!

Finally finished Tony McCarrooll's book an hour ago. I quite enjoyed to read it. Everyone has their own story to tell and this was Tony's story. I don't think his book was meant to make Oasis fans to hate Noel, but I believe he wrote truth. Tony, if you ever read this post (you were interviewed by oasispodcast a while ago and you answered my question. Thanks!), no matter what people (and Noel) say, you have your own page in Oasis history, one of the greatest bands ever. I love this line he wrote in the end of the book and it makes me sad at same time: "Perhaps all Liam wanted was acknowledgement from Noel, to hear 'I couldn't have done it without you' just once".

The God Of Small Things. Read it years ago but just re read it. Hard work due to the writing style but worth it.

Halfway through Brighton Rock [1938]. Love a bit of Graham Greene.
It would be easy to parody some of his more caricatured character descriptions (such as, "He had no dreams. His sleep was functional"), for you can tell he had aspirations of seeing his novels turned into motion pictures, but he did write some lovely stuff too. He was good with his similes, I think.
