Why are people freaking out like Liam has never sounded this good at the beginning of album cycles? I remember these exact same reactions when BDI did that small intimate gig at the start of DGSS: "omfg Liam sounds amazing on millionaire, best since 2000, R kid is back!!!" What people should be talking about is how disappointing of a song Start Anew is, and this is supposed to be one of the highlights of the album and worthy of an album closer? I thought they moved on from trying to rehash those For Anyone type of songs? Not to mention how awful of a song SBOTA still remains despite Liam's excellent vocals. Can someone please give these guys a dictionary so they can learn some new words to fill out lyrics rather than repeating the same ones over and over and over and over again? And what the fuck was that dreaming in Paris video Beady Eye's youtube channel posted...I'll tell you what it was, the sound or 5 men in 40s in a bathroom positioned awkwardly making incoherent noises. Makes me miss the sound of five men in the studio, on coke, not giving a fuck. As an album closer, it works wonderfully. It is BDI's Stop The Clocks. I wouldn't say it is disappointing, not like SBOTA was, not even close. This actually has a great melody throughout. The only bad thing about the song is the lack of anything more with it, and we know it could have had more and been less repetitive.

I can't see how it'll beat TMS as an album closer tbh, no chance.

So..A Bit late to the party. Ok Liams voice has evolved, that's the way I see it. For those saying he is too nazely that's just not true. He is breathing & hitting the softer higher notes. He never sang For Anyone like this live, put it that way. His voice sounds really good right now to me & that's all I care about.
It's the 1st time I have ever heard Start Anew & I am very impressed. Sure it has a John Lennon song vibe but that just adds to it for me. A lovely song with some great guitar work & a great melody.
SBOTA is still a pretty poor song IMO. Liam sings it with some passion in this acoustic version though. The "Show what you love now" is still the best bit.
Overall...Bring on BE. Roll on Beady Eye!

He sounded absolutely ace, a big difference from the first acoustic sessions from the DGSS tour (KEXP Live Sessions). I didn't like his voice in those tracks. They were to ''fragile'' this time it shows confidence, great stuff!

Kind of off topic, but I found this cool gif somebody made off Tumblr, and I used it as an alternate artwork for this acoustic session, go check out their page aftercloudburst.tumblr.com/

Neither song did anything for me. SBOTA sounded better acoustic than the album version but it is too repetitive.
Start Anew was okay. But also way too repetitive for me. The melody was okay but I was expecting something better after reading john's album review. Maybe the album version sounds better.
And as for Liam's voice, we all know it sounds great at the beginning. Give it 5 gigs and it will start to sound like shit.
I honestly think I am going to hate this album. I love melodies and the 3 songs I have heard so far are lacking a really good melody. Hopefully if this bombs then Gem can go back to working with Noel.

I'm listening to this acoustic session kindly recorded and shared by idledreamer right now as I type. I haven't heard the studio version of Second Bite Of The Apple, but I love this acoustic version. Liam Gallagher as the vocalist is finally back.
Well done, lads.
