Someone help me, have Arizona changed Leagues? Arizona is in the National League West, as per usual. Just wondered why the Yankees were playing them.

Arizona is in the National League West, as per usual. Just wondered why the Yankees were playing them. With the adjustment in league sizing (both leagues have 15 teams now), MLB decided to have inter-league play everyday of the year rather than in a bulk two week period in June. Basically, on any given day there should be at least one inter-league match-up being played. All good?

As an American League guy I am ok with this because I am also a pro union kind of guy.

No way national leauge owners will approve a dh in 3 years you will need a majority ownership change for that to occur ...much like the steroid guys won't get in til new writers who don't care as much about ped s. cause they feel most used the older writers don't feel that way and the majority of national leauge owners don't either about a dh and since commissioner works for owners can't see that happening .... Plus it makes for good theatre having. Two different strategies in a best of 7 ...just can't see it
In 3 years anyways ...not even 10

The only league anywhere that doesn't have a DH is the National League. Little League, Cal Ripken league, Babe Ruth league, American Legion, High School and College. The players/pitchers being groomed dont know that old style of game anymore. Plus DH will lead to more offense which creates more attendance. Owners love money. It'll happen soon. Trust me. Sidenote: who is your team Let It Bleed? Indians? Reds?

Sidenote: who is your team Let It Bleed? Indians? Reds? as a really young kid WGN out of Chicago televised virtually all Cubs games so i became a Cub fan..... Reds and Indians games were probably televised just as much but those channels were probably higher than the numbers i knew how to count to.... was a big fan of Ryne Sandberg from back in the day.....now i'm a very casual fan of baseball in general....i watch a little bit of the playoffs and did find the AL MVP race last year interesting....i completely wanted Cabrera to win - i'm not a new age numbers person or really in to personal numbers in general, but the triple crown is something that's truly amazing to me.... also back in the day i liked Ken Griffey Jr, who if wasn't hurt as much would probably be the home run king at this point, i think......and I consider Ted Willaims to be the best hitter ever.....i was fucking amazed to find out Ted Williams missed the prime of his career to serve in WWII. God bless.

God bless. Ted Williams is a god in my house. Fought in WWII and Korea. Shot down behind enemy lines. Made it back! John Glenn was his Ice Man (wing man). John Wayne once said he only played hero characters in the movies but Ted Williams actually lived like those people he portrayed.

DH does not create anymore jobs. Clubs are still limited to 25 players for the majority of the season. All the DH does is limit your bench.

All the DH does is limit your bench. How does a DH limit your bench? It can be any hitter used in that spot. Mamy teams rotate guys through that spot. Very few DH only players left. Ortiz comes to mind but not much more. I guess Hafner. Of course it creates more jobs, more money for players and extends careers. Thats why the union wants it in the NL. It's happening soon. Buckle up.

The DH has been giving defensively challenged players a career for 40 years now, and that kind of preferential treatment shouldn't exist in the game. Personally, if you cannot hack in the field like 9 other guys then you should walk away or be forced out. Straight up Darwinism. The idea that the DH creates more runs is total BS too. They have not had a problem with runs since the early 60's. And the excuse that it extends good players careers is hardly valid now-a-days as the DH is being used more as an "off" day than anything else. I agree that it will happen eventually, but it is bunk! The DH in no way creates a better experience for the fan either.

Also your spot on in offense the game really changed when they lowered mound in 67 or 68 the year of the pitcher

Lennon2217 @kitjenson. I know it's very very early days ( much like the EPL in August , September ). But GIRRADI. Is keeping the the yanks at top of division 40 odd games in , if he piece meals this til the stars return , manager of year is a must payroll or not , no ? He certainly a'int doing it with the stars and he got a 44 year old closer coming off a horrible injury 15 for 15 in saves , ,not bad eh ? I don't love him either but rumor s of the yanks decline ( myself included in that ) seem a bit premature .

Players who are not stars being inserted in to the Yankees line-up have something to play for, where as the returning stars will not play as well due to rust and entitlement. Tex is traditionally a slow starter, and now he wont get to start until June... that doesn't look good. Not to mention, their pitching can never hold up as well as it has thus far. However, they will still contend all season long, but I still see Boston winning this one due to pitching mostly.
