Hi Guys
I was wondering if there is any live tv show performances that we have missed from the years 1994-2002 ?
we have a big list but is there any fans out there who know of a performance but there is no footage of the show ?
I recall in 1997 Noel Gallagher was on a cooking show in some country like germany or france i can't remember much about it but will try find it but i think it was only interview no music.

There's also some early performance missing (first TV performance maybe) mentioned on Tony McCarroll's book.

There's also some early performance missing (first TV performance maybe) mentioned on Tony McCarroll's book. Yes, of them performing 'Take Me'. Would love to see this as, according to Tony McCarroll's account, it's missing from the Granada television archives. I asked about this a while back on the Missing Episodes forum and got some interesting responses, a couple of which point out that it's unlikely to have been from Red Nose Day in 93. There were a couple of other suggestions though - Steve Williams thinks it may have been for the Boddingtons Manchester Festival, which ran from 1991-3. missingepisodes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=totp&thread=6700&page=1#63792I like to think it's out there somewhere... maybe wishful thinking, but if 40+ yr old missing episodes of Top of the Pops and Doctor Who can turn up then I think there's some hope for this early Oasis appearance. Probably on a VHS in an archive somewhere, gathering dust! In case it's any help,, I had a go at listing the early Oasis TV appearances here (work-in-progress, though I haven't added to it in a while): www.oasis-recordinginfo.co.uk/?page_id=455

Great website, and it's nice to have a mention even though I didn't contribute much! Here's some more bits of information: The White Room Series 2, episode 3 The black-and-white clip shown before Some Might Say was of The Hollies playing "Look Through Any Window" in 1965 at the London Palladium. Mark Radcliffe then links to Oasis by saying "from Manchester's top beat combo of the '60s to their equivalent in the '90s", still in black and white. Then it fades to colour after Some Might Say. The Word Series 4, episode 17 There's a great article here from Terry Christian about how Oasis were booked and what happened on the night: www.guardian.co.uk/music/2004/feb/22/popandrock.oasisMTV Presents Oasis Unplugged The whole show was never released, but 2 tracks have appeared on official compilations: DLBIA (audio only) was on "The Very Best Of MTV Unplugged" CD, and Listen Up was on the official "MTV Unplugged Finest Moments" DVD with 5.1 surround sound!

Thanks very much for the above info, birchy! All new to me. I will try to incorporate it into the article during the week, with a credit to you for providing it.
I had no idea that Listen Up was on that DVD. Should be great to hear it in 5.1! Noel and the band gave a great performance in difficult circumstances and sonically I think that MTV Unplugged is one of the best live recordings of Oasis I've heard.
Something else was mentioned on the forum a while back about MTV Unplugged that'd I'd not heard before - that there's a rehearsal recording of the whole concert with Liam on vocals. Anyone have any more info on this and a source for the story? Would be interesting to hear.

There is footage of rehearsals, both with Noel and Liam singing, but there's only been short clips released so far, both on an official MTV feature a few years back. Who knows if full run-throughs were performed, recorded and kept?

It would be great to hear the whole thing in 5.1 Surround one day. I don't know about the MTV Unplugged rehearsals, but there is a video of the Word rehearsals somewhere, according to this site: web.archive.org/web/20030803120801/http://www.oasis-live.net/oasis.php?dir=shows&action=gig&date=1994-03-18aIt's one of those rare clips I'd love to get hold of.

Always thought it was The Who that they played before linking into Some Might Say on The White Room but as a fellow Manchester band The Hollies would make more sense.

Here is another missing TV performance; the band performed 'Wonderwall' on a German TV show in 1995. I've been told contradicting reports as to whether it was in fact live, or mimed. I have been searching for this performance for quite a while, and here is what I do know; - I collect itineraries (tour books given to crew and band) and the show is scheduled simply as 'TV SHOW' in the book 'World Tour '95 - part two'. The date of recording is Thursday 9th of November 1995, and it was recorded in Cologne, Germany. This was actually their first stop on their German tour, as they went to Hamburg the following day, and then back to Cologne for their gig there on the 12th. - The TV-show might have been broadcasted on RTL. I've seen one listing for it stating it was on RTL, but no mention of the name of the show. Does anyone know of any famous talkshows/tvshows that ran on RTL network around that time, that had musical guests? - I have seen a few still photos that I believe is from this performance. Here is one; 2.bp.blogspot.com/-rpPvtzqF0R4/TvSbEFi4gJI/AAAAAAAARUk/ZxbGPH6Tu38/s1600/front-inner.jpgMaybe someone recognizes the studio? If anyone has any info on this, or better yet; a recording on video - please get in touch! I came very close to finding this once, but the guy couldn't locate the actual VHS tape (he had a first gen copy). Best regards, Joakim

are there more photos of that show?
Edit the backround looks like "Gottschalk Late Night" but wiki says that the show got cancelled in February 95 and the Hambur gig was in November
a few clips of the show (not the oasis one)
Edit 2: Could also be "RTL Nachtshow" which got cancelled in november 95

Definitely looks like "RTL-Nachtshow mit Thomas Koschwitz". Here's a sample from another episode, at 06:40 the music starts and the studio background looks the same as in the Oasis picture: Edit - here's another sample: According to this site, the show ended on 17.11.1995 which was after Oasis played: www.fernsehserien.de/rtl-nachtshow/sendetermine/-1

It's appears we now have confirmed that this was in fact "RTL Nachtshow". Thanks for the help, both cigsandalc and birchy! The search continues, but I guess we have better odds now.

Would still love to see the footage though, lets hope one day it surfaces.
