Should really have been another clean sheet....makes you really appreciate the record of 14 games, if that is indeed correct (?). Very early days yet, but nice to be up to 3rd, 2 pts off the leaders....but Citeh and Chelsea next in the Prem could put a dent into that

Last night, my mom asked me what I wanted from the Arsenal for Xmas. I told her: "a win."
No joke.

Arsenal 7-3 Newcastle.
What an amazing second half that was. Theo's third was simply sublime, as well.

I tweaked the Magic Hat chant to the following: Arsene Wenger's not magic He wears no magic hat So when he saw the Champions League He said: "Goodbye to that" Goodbye 4th place, innit, like.

Top 4 bitches, yes yes oh yay. In Wenger we trust. Sure I had an argument with you a couple of years back when you wanted Wenger sacked if he didn't win a trophy.... No closer to a trophy then. I don't see the trophy drought as a problem at the moment - how many times I have to say to detractors they had to pay off a state of the art stadium picks me off. That is no 'small issue' to deal with, especially considering the fact Arsenal were never that rich to begin with. Basically, they've been treading water the last 8 years, desperately trying to stay in touch with the elite and have been successful in that aspect. In a time when billionaires dominate the league with their soulless teams (Man City, Chelsea)I honestly think Wenger's achievements are second to Sir Alex's due to the constraints placed upon him. Many clubs in other countries have rapidly slipped down the league with their new stadium, fans should be grateful that Wenger has consistently got them in the Champions League. It's no trophy but because money is such an important aspect of the game today, it is essential to the clubs future prospects of achieving success. I think the club's finances are much brighter than ever now, so Wenger does need to push on if he wants to win a title though. He definitely still has the quality to do it, but buying some young African kid won't win the league. Just like Man Utd's 90s sqaud, blend youth with experience, but essentially like United, world class experience.

Arsenal are the Atlanta Braves of the EPL. Close but no cigar per usual.

K+ Also, I feel someone like Jurgen Klopp would be the perfect successor to Wenger no? The foundations are already there for him. It's the same for the likes of Guardiola, Rodgers, Laudrup, etc who all play similar football - they could walk into the Arsenal squad and much of what they desire is already in place because of Wenger. Unlike Rodgers (who I'm a big fan of), who at the moment seems to be mopping up the mess left behind him by the previous managers. He's having to lay down foundations which will take a while to embed itself at Liverpool. That said, if he is given the time, I think he will do a great job for Liverpool.
