Thanks BBC for that sailing gold coverage, well done to Tom Slingsby.
Speaking of TV, someone (who I will buy a beer for if I meet him) has done this Hitler reaction video of our broadcasters efforts:

Oscar Pistorius is great, i leave it to science and the governing bodies to decide if the technology he uses is fair, his fellow athletes seem to appreciate him being in the event.

US soccer team...Wow!
Canada looked gassed by the end of that game. Actually, by the end of the first extra time. They had no legs in the second extra time and it showed. It would have been really interesting if it had gone to PK's. But I'm glad that it was settled within the game and not by PK's.
On to Japan at Wembley with a hope for redemption.

fooking french basketball players, they don't know how to lose. Not the first time they start hitting other team players. ^ 'extra advantage' hes got no sodding legs! thats an EXTREME disadvantage, hence he lost to the runners with legs 2 US universities have studied him. Both say he has extra advantage because he has less weight to move and the prosthesis react better that human legs. If he'd run vs his identical twin brother he would win thanks to this. He lost to other runners cos they were better, but he has defeated some others thanks to this.

Can someone explain the points system for team gymnastics? In team finals, each team is allowed to compete 3 gymnasts and all 3 scored are totaled for the final score. That is the Team Score. As far as individual scores go . . . Every routine is given a "difficulty" score based on the skills and combinations performed in their routine. This score usually falls somewhere between 6.0 and 7.0 depending on the gymnast and routine done. The routine is also given an "execution" score. This is determined by taking all deductions given out of a possible 10.0. Quality routines fall in the 9.0 area. The total score is the result of these two scores (difficulty and execution) being added together. In short, average score = 14.500, good score = 15.000, great score = 15.500, champion score = 16.000 plus. This does vary a bit. For example: Pommel Horse scores are always lower than the average, and Vault scores are always higher. Good enough? I hope so, because it is really a complex system which is why gymnastics is not a more popular sport. The average joe has no idea what is really going on. Cheers!

a labored, grueling, and exciting finish to the basketball portion of the games. LeBron and Kevin Durant are the best players in the world. Seeing their chemistry and them working together even after the NBA finals is joy to watch.
