*edit:made a mistake, here's the proper link www.amazon.com/Battle-Hymn-Tiger-Mother-Chua/dp/1594202842/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_topDon't know if anyone has read or heard about it. As an Asian, culturally I'm same with Chinese on many occasions though I don't consider myself as one, and has been living in Asia ever since I was born, I was astounded by how she raised her kids. Not sure if it has something to do with that she is the second generation of Asian immigrants so she feels the need to force her kids to be superior to others. I haven't been to the US myself so I don't know if this is the case for most of American born (half) Chinese. Just want to make clear that this kind of parenting method isn't adopted often in Asia nowadays. Not in my family at least.

i know nothing of this but i don't know why you have linked to a review page full of peoples opinions that mean nothing to us as we have no knowledge of those writing the reviews other than they have written a review.

The reviews often tell you more about the book than the product page (which is just a click away if you want it). I haven't read the book, but I'm aware of the idea and I think it's pretty reductive. I know a few of my Chinese friends were pushed pretty hard to succeed by their parents, but the family I know that fits the book's model best is American. How's that for a non-stereotype
