What strikes me is that Liam still has that voice. Is it as pure as the early 90s, or brilliantly aggressive as the mid to late 90s? Of course not. But he still has it. It doesn't always come across well live on the bootlegs, but my god he's still filled with power when you see him live.

Great show. My left ear is still ringing and clogged but its worth it. Only thing that pissed me off was this big hippo bitch trying to squeeze in just as BDI came on. I fucking elbowed the shit out of her and she ended up moving, haha.

Amazing shows. Just got back from DC and NYC. Will write more when I get to a computer. Liam kicked ass both nights. Got liams autograph and he talked to us which was cool.

just got back from the gig in NYC. was in the front. liam came down at the end of the gig and shook my hand. very cool!
great show. different vibe from the webster hall show; less rowdy, but the band sounded much tighter.

The show definitely had a different vibe than the Webster Hall show back in June. At that gig the crowd was extremely lively. Last night at Terminal 5 the crowd was dead as Dillinger. They only seemed to get excited for Four Letter Word, The Roller, Wigwam and Sons of The Stage. You could tell Liam's vocals were getting tired mid set though. He kept asking for his vocals to keep getting boosted and he was shouting a lot of the songs it seemed to get above the guitars. Perhaps that played into them not playing 'World Outside My Room' last night. He just didn't sound good on the slower tunes (For Anyone, Kill For A Dream). The rest of the guys sounded tight as hell. I think a solid year of touring has finally taken a toll on Liam's vocals for this calendar year. Time to rest up and make a great second record in February. BTW...Black Box Revelation was surprisingly good. I picked up their 6 song US EP and it was solid. Worth the $5 I spent on it.

Liam's vocals on some songs were superb.
Black Box Revelation are cool, watch out for a possible Live4ever showcase appearance at SXSW in March!
Was nice to meet Paul Gallagher.

He generally sounded better on more rocking tunes such as Four Letter Word, Bring The Light, Three Ring Circus, Wigwam and Sons of the Stage last night.

Both shows I was right at the barricade in front, and between bands in SF one very short woman kept slipping her hand past me and resting it on the barricade. She kept cheerfully saying "Sorry!" whenever I turned to look at her. I finally said "You don't have to apologize, but I'm not going to let you in front of me." I mean, did she really think I was going to move aside?

Probably ruined about 80% of his pictures. On our way out we parked outside the tour bus and blasted NGHFB's lol. Harmless fun.

In NY there were two girls who walked up and went right to the front of the line. A Tara Reid look-alike and her follower. Drove everyone nuts.

Overall, I thought both the DC and the NY shows were great. Liam had quite a bit of energy in his songs, and though his voice did seem to be fading a bit for the NY show. He was drinking some kind of steaming tea onstage and talking to the sound guy quite a bit. I managed to grab the set list (both nights) and in NY they cut out Across the Universe in the encore. Probably because of his voice.
My husband met Gem and Andy the first night in DC. I missed them, but since I met Gem back in June, I was happy that he got to meet them this time.
Was able to get front row to both shows, and was thrilled that Liam came down off stage to greet the fans both nights. It made waiting in the cold well worth it. The first night I thanked him for the microphone he gave me back in June and he took my hand and kissed it. That was pretty cool. The second night, he signed a picture I had taken of him back in June. While he was up on stage he also asked us if we ever went home. That was cool that he recognized us. My husband also managed to get Gem's guitar pick.
And now my mini-vacation is over, and back to work. Hello Monday....

I had a feeling they might play that song in New York since the anniversary of John Lennon's death was only the night prior. Oh well that is a shame since I wanted to hear it but I totally understand. Liam's voice was falling apart mid way through the set and the slower tunes were butchered.

I hope the extra money made it into the pockets of BBR!

I have pushed my way to the front at at least 500 shows before, and not until this year did it even occur to me that I had probably been pissing people off. So I'll apologize to the universe for my error right now. The etiquette varies at different types of shows, though...

I hope the extra money made it into the pockets of BBR! Unfortunately their van was broken into while they were in NY and all of their money from the tour was stolen. They had a jar out at the merch table in Boston explaining and asking for any small donation people could make to help them out.

Well, there's a difference between occupying empty space up front and throwing elbows left and right while squeezing between people. My attitude is if moving closer encroaches into someone's personal space, stay where you are.

Trust me galpsych, I would hardly put you in the same category as the two girls from the shows I went to. Empty space at the concert is more room for more fans. But a spot in line before the doors open is different. They literally walked right up to the front of the line as though they were with the guy who'd been standing there the entire time. Then, they weasled their way into getting backstage passes for themselves in NY, and left their "friends" behind. Definition of bitch = those two.
