I was just about to make the same thread regarding DC! Great minds, eh? Yeah, I'm going to the DC gig exactly 1 week from today. I'm up for a meetup if we can get one organized

Can't wait!! I'll defer to you for good places to meetup at in the DC area, since you'd know best. I think a week gives us enough time to pull together a group - otherwise NL4E it'll just be the four of us: Me, my husband, you and subway girl ;o)

I haven't been to many bars in that part of town, but I'm sure we can get something worked out. Not sure if you've ever been to the 930 Club. The area, and the club itself looks sketchier than it really is. The inside of 930 Club is very nice - but you wouldn't know it from looking at the outside! Seen some great acts there, including the Stereophonics, Los Campesinos, Arctic Monkeys, and Stars. Also, it's general admissions, and would be very easy to get first row standing like in Philly if we get there early enough.

And early I plan to be!
Yeah, the place did look a little shady from the pics, but I'm taking your word for it that it's nice inside. But the important part is seeing BDI!
How were the Arctic Monkeys? They must've been amazing live! When did you see them there?
And subway girl... maybe you should just ask her. We still have a week left.

They were brilliant live. Seriously, the inside of the 930 Club is really nice. You won't be disappointed.

there are hundreds of bars nearby on U st...I personally like the velvet lounge, it's on U west of 930 club, like a block away.
I was just browsing on craigslist and there are folks selling bdi tix for tonight's show BELOW FACE VALUE...maybe the venue won't be super full, so it'll be easy to get up front (at this venue it's usually easy to make it to the front even when the show is sold out).
I'll be arriving at 7.30-8. See you guys tonight!

Yeah, actually, I'll go. Already spent the $40, so why not. Plus, how often do you get to see Liam and the lads up close in the US?

How is this even a question in your mind? ? It's hard to motivate yourself to attend a gig alone!

I'll use the end of this thread to troll.
It's hard to motivate yourself for a gig when...I ain't got no weed....anyone out there holding, coming to the gig, and can help a gov't worker out?

Anyone frequent the 930 club and know if they'll be reasonable access to a stage door or the buses?

Heading over now from our hotel... will be checking out the venue, then grabbing something to eat at Ooh's and Aah's, then finding somewhere to drink (quickly) before hanging out by the venue... See you all there )

Anyone frequent the 930 club and know if they'll be reasonable access to a stage door or the buses? Yeah, the buses are usually parked right outside the venue either on V st or on 9th St. pretty easy, anyone can wait for the band by the buses.. Will be heading over in a bit, see you all there!

What an amazing show..place was PACKED, the band sounded tight as fuck, and Liam was in a great mood, very talkative, even came down from the stage and walked along the barrier greeting everyone on the first row...I am so pleased right now.

Was a great gig. Tons of people there. Judging how the tickets were out there on craigslist and how the gig hadn't sold out I was expecting a light turnout. In reality, it seemed quite jam packed to me.
Liam seemed in a good mood. It was worth the price of the ticket alone to hear In the Bubble. And I thought the show was really LOUD! Which is fantastic. Like 'em loud.
Having seen them both now in the span of a month, I still think Beady Eye does more for me as a rock show. Sharrock is awesome. Having Gem and Andy along makes it feel more like a familiar band I'm supporting. Noel's gig just seemed out of sorts, as you focused on him and wondered to yourself, who are those other dudes?!?!
I think what puts it over the top is Liam's effort. The opening numbers sounded not so great, but his voice warms up into the gig. Otherwise, you can see him really putting his all into the songs and he's magnetic.
The final point, I thought the stage itself at the venue seemed really small. Liam didn't have as much room to stalk around. And I'll close on a gripe....both Beady Eye and Noel are guilty of rarely acknowledging the folks in the balcony or the back. Small gripe...
Awesome gig. Love that they don't play any Oasis songs. Three gigs and two albums in one year, Oasis splitting hasn't been the end of the world.

Shook Liam's hand. The lucky shirt of Nataliemckinney strikes again! Right, off to bed before the prospect of tomorrow becomes any worse!

It was a great show. Unfortunately I had some greasy douchebag next to me who decided to barge his way up front before BE came onstage. We almost got in a fight with him but decided it wasn't worth it. We gave him a ton of shit though. He spent the entire concert jumping up and giving Liam the finger and screaming at him. So at that point when Liam gave someone in the crowd the double middle finger, it was directed towards that idiot next to me.
Liam seemed REALLY into the tunes.

I thought Liam was just being Liam. Nice to know the subplot, though, I guess! It was a great gig. Full of energy.
