Hi folks! I'm going to the Beady Eye gig in San Francisco this Friday (and in LA on Saturday, for that matter) and I wanted to get people's opinion on what time they think the band will arrive at the venue. I have a painting I want to give Liam, and I was guessing 3:00 p.m. might be a safe bet to show up outside the club. Anyone else crazy enough to get there that early?! The friend who is going to the show with me refuses to get there until 9:00 p.m. As far as locating the stage door entrance, band and equipment parking areas, and such, you can read the technical specs for the venue online at: www.theregencyballroom.com/tech_info.phpI guess I could call the venue and ask what time load-in and soundcheck will be...

I met Gem just before the show, maybe about a half hour before the doors opened. We were standing in line and him and Andy were shopping across the street. They took some time for pics with the fans and autographs. Good luck and have fun at the shows! I'm going to see them again at the end of next week in DC and NY.

Thanks! They should be fun shows. Did you see them this summer, then? I saw a festival gig in Europe this summer and it was awesome.
Yeah, ordinarily I wouldn't be so intent on getting there so early, but I don't want to take the chance that the band might not be hanging around outside later in the day. In order to hand over this painting I want to be fairly certain I'll be standing there when the band first arrives.
No other Bay Area fans planning to arrive around 3:00? It will be a long lonely afternoon...

Yeah, we went to go see them in June in Philly, and I was dead set on getting there early. My husband (a long time Oasis fan) was less enthused about waiting in line early, but it really did seem to pay off. We were able to get right in front for the show, so it was worth it. Not sure how much fun it will be next week in the cold, but I'm going for it again ) Europe must've been a blast to see them, a completely different experience than here in the States, I'm sure. What was the crowd like? Let me know how it works out for you on Friday - I really hope that you get to give Liam your painting!!

Wiltern has two entrances. Main on Wilshire/Western. and rear off Oxford/Western (behind the Denny's) Seen a string of bands there met Morrisseys band, Blur etc etc. very easy to meet them there.

Just got back from the San Francisco show! Epic!! It was better than all the youtube clips Ive been watching! Got to meet Gem, Andy and Chris after the show as we waited around the tour bus. I told Andy to keep up the Pretty Green mixes and he was so humble and thanked me back for enjoying his mix tapes. Never thought I'd get to stand around for a bit and talk to these guys but they were very cool. Jeff Wooton slipped by and I think with all the people talking to Gem and Andy it seems Liam got on the tour bus unseen.
Great show! World Outside My Room and Sons Of The Stage for encore and I didn't expect WigWam to sound even better LIVE!!

Hey, as a quick follow-up to this, I did meet Liam before the SF show and gave him my painting! Got to the club at 4:00, met Gem and Andy at 4:30 on their way in to soundcheck, met Liam at 6:30 on his way out after soundcheck. What an amazing experience! And nearly as good as meeting the band was meeting a bunch of like-minded fans in person. I finally felt like being a fan was normal. Liam said he liked the painting, by the way. I'll post a link to pictures later if anyone is interested. P.S. The SF show was good, but the LA show was mega. edited to add: Here's the tumblr post with the photos: gallagher-psychology.tumblr.com/post/13788258198/me-with-liam-gem-and-andy-three-exclamation
