I spoke for about 45 minutes by phone with Noel this morning. He was in great form. I will try to post some audio soon (especially about the specific tracks people asked about in the earlier thread that he addressed so i don't have to paraphrase his answers).
As for an Oasis Anthology (which came up easily as we chatted about the George Harrison doc), he said there's nothing really in the "vaults" that includes enough members of Oasis to call Oasis. He did say there are loads of his demos, but that he sees no point in releasing any of those as he plans to use many of the best ones himself in the future.
Sorry for the tease, but that's it for now. Please don't hit me with a million questions. I will do my best to get up an article and some audio clips ASAP.

I agree, cosmos. But there just likely won't be anything on it that we don't already have.

There will definitely be an anthology at some point in the future. The question is only when.

I'd love to hear the sessions from late 2003, early 2004 when Oasis worked with Death In Vegas. I wanted that collaboration to work so badly. I remember Noel saying 3-5 years ago that he "might" let the 10 tracks or so they worked on be on an anthology one day in the future. Then again he also said that most of them were turds. Both fingers crossed we all hear something someday from it.

I can see it developing into a John Lennon style anthology. It can include his early, middle and late Oasis era demos. Then maybe his original demos of Setting Sun and Let Forever Be (I'm sure at some point it was just him on an acoustic guitar before handing his ideas over to the Chemical Brothers). Some choice live cuts and lastly end it with his solo career stuff. I guess it'll be a good 15 to 20 years away at this point but it is always fun to speculate.

a Liam sung DLBIA are pretty much all we want. Was there ever any rumour of this existing? I just can't imagine a '95 era Liam singing it, but it would be the one think I hope is kicking around on a tape somewhere.

I agree, cosmos. But there just likely won't be anything on it that we don't already have. Would be amazed if that happens. There's tons of stuff in the vaults that we haven't heard. Maybe not much in the way of unreleased songs recorded by the band, but there'll be masses of alternative takes, demos and the like.

I'm pretty sure there's more than enough for an athology: the DM that was never released, MG outtakes, BHN stripped down, SOSTSOG demos that we already partially have, HC sessions, DBTT recorded two or three times + countless of Noel's and Liam's home demos. It will happen someday.

He made it clear those are his songs ("I have a LOT of songs from that time" in simple demo form) are his and he's going to do something with them himself. For instance "Come On It's Alright" (now called Come On Outside") and "God Help Us All" and "Don't Stop The Happening" were worked on during the sessions for this album and he just ran out of steam after being in the studio for a year, but they will be on the 2 planned albums AFTER the AA album.

He already planned the next 3 albums altogether? Impressing. Also good to know he hasn't ditched those few songs we know the names of yet...so we WILL hear them some day Thanks for the info!

Well that is why I said a John Lennon style anthology instead of a Beatles anthology. Strictly Noel songs that illustrate his career in the future.
