Just curious, who owns the rights to Oasis' songs? Is it the person who has written the song? Or something else?
Also...... Can Noel perform the Oasis songs that Liam has written? And can Beady Eye peform the Oasis songs that Noel has written?

One thing for sure Noel will NOT perform Liam's song!

I'm pretty sure anyone can 'cover' anyone elses song. No laws against that.

You can cover anything live without permission and without paying royalties.
You can release an official cover without permission if you don't change the song, but you have to pay royalties.
You can't release an official cover if you've changed the song, unless you've got permission from the owner, and you have to pay royalties.
As far as I know Noel owns the rights to all the songs he's written and Liam owns the rights to all of his.

(as long as they don't use the Oasis brand)

This is confusing tbh, Mike Flowers Pops covered Wonderwall and that was changed to an extent, yet I remember Noel around 1998(ish) saying a band called Bus Stop asked if they could cover Champagne Supernova and he asked if they were the ones who covered Kung Foo fighting (if you haven't heard it, save your ears the pain and don't go looking for it) and when they said yes Noel told them to fuck off (that is almost word for word ) I'm not saying what you've said is wrong, but that Mike Flowers version of Wonderwall was awful (piss take or not) so i'm failing to see how he'd agree to let Flowers do that and then tell another band to fuck off. It could very well be that Noel saw the joke with Flowers but knew Bus Stop were rubbish though?

there's an interview knocking around noel did with mtv where he talked about being played mike flowers to okay it. he said he liked it because they'd changed the structure and still managed to keep the song sounding great...or something to that effect. then says its the sign of a great song, in typical noel/1996 modesty.

I remember at one point the real Wonderwall was #3 and the Flowers one was #2.
