If one wants to be cynical you could say all three of the rumored singles are in the first six, so there may well be a dropoff in quality. But I'd rather think this is just a fantastic album. If Stop The Clocks is part of the "drop in quality" I reckon it'll be alright anyway......

Noel fans should be worried since he didn't review the last four songs...obviously they weren't that special! Compare that to the last four songs on DGSS - Wigwam, Three Ring Circus, The Beat Goes On, The Morning Son. Noel has to pull something special out of the bag to beat that lot!a wet kipper should do it

If the uptempo bit at the end of STC would develop itself in the orchestra from EOTR, so the beginning and the end of the album would be the same. I don't know how he would do that, but I want it, and I want it now!

Wow! Thanks GDForever. k+ I also feel a bit weary. There was not one bad word in that review. But I tend to think that if the songs are half as good as they're being described, then I'll definitely be happy. It sounds like he's going back to a type of WTSMG writing. Of course these won't be stadium anthems, but they will have the sweeping big choruses that we've all be clamoring for. There could be a drop off, but there were only 4 tracks that they didn't preview, and one was STC. And that is suppose to be an album highlight, and the one the we're all pretty sure is good. So we're basically questioning the quality of 3 tracks. Which in the end isn't bad. Especially if 1 or 2 of the 3 turn out to be really good. That would give us a really complete, extremely high quality album. One that we haven't had the fortune of hearing/seeing for a long time. This review calmed my fears, and now I'm just waiting for October to come. A month and half to go, can't wait.

I don't know how he would do that, but I want it, and I want it now! If McCartney could do it with Band on The Run, and 1985, then I'm sure Noel could. I mean there should be no way that 1985 transitions to Band on the Run at the end, so it is possible.

How many magazines come out on a friday? there were all journalist from magazines? magazines have websites now and they can put something up, not all but something I guess they can. They could hold them back, for the full review. I reason could be that they might not want to give a review, sound amazed and then maybe have to backtrack when they hear the rest of the album.

from what im led to believe, the majority of attendees were representatives of major radio networks Noel's going for it. Sweet No more we don't do America b.s. Not saying that he should sell his soul to the US, but every time Oasis needed to do something in America it was always the same cop out, "we don't play the American game". Well not everything is the "game", somethings you just have to do. Whether you're in the US or Europe. Somethings you just have to get done.

I know that they only let them listen to the first 6 songs. I was half joking about the drop off in quality. But then again...think if DOYS. If they let someone listen to the first 6 of that imagine the reviews. Remember who wrote most of the last half of DOYS

IIHAG and Record Machine look to be absolute winners. We may very well have a special album lined up. Roll on October!

If that song is half of what I'm thinking of, then I'm definitely going to be extremely excited about the record.

Noel's capable of writing a stinker or two.

Isn't there a review of Jesus Freaks that describes it in a way that makes it sound awesome? It's somewhere around here.

Isn't there a review of Jesus Freaks that describes it in a way that makes it sound awesome? It's somewhere around here. Which is one thing that's making me weary. Any review can be made to make an album or song sound great (not saying that I know what Jesus Freaks will sound like). This is really exciting and all, but let's remember that this is one guy's review. That's it. It's a great review, but it's only one. And besides, wasn't there a review of DGSS a month before it came out. And the guy made it sound like an amazing album. Not saying that that's the case here, but let's not get too up. Edit: Now we have two. Forget what I said

Well not everything is the "game", somethings you just have to do. Whether you're in the US or Europe. Somethings you just have to get done. Noel always said that Oasis were too unprofessional when they started out the be appealing to the American music industry. And I think by the time they settled down fighting the negativity was too daunting to attempt. They would have have to have worked harder than any other new band to break down the preconceptions. They would have had to pander and Oasis were never going to do that. With this solo career it's a bit of a blank slate for him. He carries less baggage than Liam. He was always viewed as the more professional and reasonable brother and obviously he retained enough respect and confidence from the label that someone he worked with is willing to take a chance on him again. Even though it isn't to the same extent as England he is the one who did the interviews in the US and has even casual relationships with DJ's and radio executives.

^ He can think whatever he likes. I, however, do care.
Besides I think he more meant bloggers. Random people who just have a webpage and no actual connections or legitimacy. He said he reads print reviews. If this organization was important enough to be invited I am willing to bet he'd care about their review.
