There's also the matter of the band moving forward under the name of someone who was present at the brutal murder of a pregnant woman in an attempt to start a race war. I always found that to be extremely weird.

Ah now here's a frontman who really is a top guy. Nice breath of fresh air.

I just randomly started thinking about the song Shoot The Runner with those god awful lyrics "I'm the king and she's my queen, bitch". I didn't like it the first time I heard it, and it sure doesn't sound better now!

Yeah I guess the lyrics themselves aren't necessarily awful on their own, but since Kasabian always sounded a bit "laddy", those lyrics come off worse than they would if for example Bowie had sung them.

I didn't know that Tom was writing lyrics... One guy is complete idiot, it's not fair to attack other members because of that.

That's ok, everybody can have their opinion about anyone but nobody would talk about those lyrics now if Tom didn't do what he done.

Can't believe she forgave him and took him back.Nice example for their kid. I've seen some girl I knew do the exact same thing. Don't expect too much from people & stop worrying about them if they make such decisions, they have a completely different mindset. Each to their own, some fancy what's totally unacceptable for you. Oh yeah, it happens all the time. However I think it is especially sad that there's a kid involved who witnessed the whole thing. That could be a truly traumatic experience with consequences in his later life. How will they ever explain it to him?

Oh c'mon mate don't post-humously get offended by lyrics that are written years ago by a person who didn't even do the crime in question. I can understand people not being able to hear the songs the same at the moment but to try and comb through the lyrics for examples of domestic violence encouraging lyrics is a bit silly. You could do that with any other band and find lyrics far far worse than that.

I was re-reading some old Lennon interviews and in Playboy 1980 he openly admits to hitting the women he dated and married on many occasions.
I also think back on all those 70s groupies like Lori Mattix. She dated and had sex with stars like David Bowie, Jimmy Page and Mick Jagger when she was 14-16 and they were 30-33.
If any of these events happened under today’s watchful eyes and social media these people would be torn to shreds. Not sure how Page and Jagger escaped the MeToo movement.

Queen Bitch is a Bowie tribute on the noose. I AM not offended by those, but could see how people would be.✌️

The history of rock music is littered with such abuse, and if we now live in a society where these things being known would get the perpetrators torn to shreds, then we're finally doing something right.

Jimmy Page kidnapped that girl too. He’s always been a lecherous old creep. It’s very well documented that The Beatles would never have sex with underage girls. So if they knew it was wrong back then, then why didn’t Bowie, Page, Jagger, etc know better?

To be fair things like domestic violence were a lot more common in those days in broader society, they probably would have been less likely to do that sort of thing as well in the modern day.

That’s true, but copious amounts of prostitutes, drink and drugs isn’t on the same level as having sex with kids.

Same actually, was going to get Velociraptor as it's my favourite album of theirs and they're probably the only band I really love who I don't have any records of. Now I think I'd feel guilty buying so soon after it happened.

Listened to the For Crying Out Loud CD a lot on a roadtrip with my girlfriend last week. I was happy that we actually could enjoy it a lot despite the news about his crimes. Even though them singing You're In Love With A Psycho feels a bit creepy now...
