even a pro recording can't get the massive bass on club foot.. The one on the DVD has it... Well, it did in the cinema, anyway... I have no idea why they turn it down so much live... Should be up to 11! Yeah, I'm listening the CD version and the recording has the massive bass

Hey, I looked for Kasabian forums a few months ago, and I did not find interesting things... I'll look this board. Otherwise, there is a Kasabian-mix that I made early this year : www.mixcloud.com/BenoitBe/kasabian-mix/83 minutes mix in streaming (no download, but I can upload it if you are interested). Tracklist on the link (all albums are represented and also b-sides..) (and of course you can check my others "mix" (100% amateur, I just have a computer with a free-soft..))

Tom Meighan steps down I met them in person several times and this comment is no surprise to me. Lovely guys, but Tom was someone - you never know if he's pleased or angry. He could be very warm at one moment, but next moment he could be bitchy. I wish you all the best, Tom.

That statement sounds ominous. I love that band.

Is it still Kasabian without Tom? Not really...
Especially as Serge already has his side project.

I'm devastated. I'm 21, Kasabian were the first band I ever got into, only came to Australia once in 2017 and it was across the otherside of the country and wasn't even 18 yet so couldn't quite afford it so never got to see them live. I was never really into music that much until I discovered Kasabian as a 15 year old who turned me on to Oasis and Stone Roses etc which in turn helped me discover great music from the 60's and 70s. Really hope this isn't the end forever and really hope Tom can get the help he needs.
I imagine this is how everyone on this forum felt when Oasis died.

I'd be shocked if they continue as Kasabian, statement is probably just testing the waters and it's not like live music is coming any time soon anyway. It's crazy because it sounds like a fair bit of their next album has already been written and they'd been teasing it. Wonder if that material goes straight onto a new S.L.P. record or if it disappears or if too much of it is done and they're contractually obliged to release it as Kasabian (this is the only possible way they would continue IMO).

He could be very warm at one moment, but next moment he could be bitchy. I wish you all the best, Tom. I also had the pleasure of meeting Tom backstage after they performed on the Late Show with David Letterman in September 2006. He was lovely and extremely personable to me. I mentioned I was seeing them a few days later in Philadelphia and he was very touched by the multiple gigs in the same week. I remember during the taping of the show some sort of mistake was made, so they had to "re-record" their song in an empty studio 15-20 min after they let the audience out. They edited in the crowd noise from the previous version. While the band was waiting for the Letterman folks to setup for the re-recording, Tom would sing "If I Fell" by The Beatles and he was so thrilled to be on the same stage as The Beatles for Ed Sullivan. That was a cool little moment to witness. I really hope Tom is ok. There was a time and place when I was hugely into this band, 2005-2011ish. I no longer listen to them as regularly as I did back in the day but I appreciate the special work they did early on and for that I am thankful for them. GET WELL TOMMY!!!!

To me this was overdue, Tom was singing less and less and Serge picked up more vocals in later albums. Wish them the best. Could've waited for a while before making the statement, since there won't be any gigs in a long time.

It more sounds like Tom has just some health issues (probably mental what he had mentioned in 2017 interview) but not about... well, break-up like Oasis did. So maybe year or two Kasabian won't do anything, maybe Serge will continue his S.L.P project (very average tbh) and then Tom will return. But yeah, Kasabian is my third favourite band and I've expected 7th album news as there were some photos and jams of Serge doin' something, Tom also did Beatles covers, BBC Leicester radio podcasts. And this story is very suprising for today. Quarantine changes people sadly

Not really Kasabian without Tom (or Serge, for that matter – very much like Oasis in that regard).
Main thing is Tom gets better. He went through a divorce a few years ago and that might be it.
He's always been 'on the edge'.

Could've waited for a while before making the statement, since there won't be any gigs in a long time. It is interesting timing. With the music industry almost shutdown and no touring, you technically could just sit on this news and see how it plays out. Nobody would be the wiser from it.

Hope he gets better soon. The message feels a bit weird, they could've said that they're going into an hiatus because Tom needs to sort out his problems, but instead they've said that Tom is out of Kasabian. Also, no need to point out his behaviour.

Weird one eh. Maybe Tom has done something really shitty to one of the other guys so he’s been punted? Shame as they’ve been mates since school days I think?
Will be interesting to see if they continue with Serge doing all the vocals.

Serge to continue on his own? Seriously?
Neither are great singers but Toms voice had an attitude that fitted their heavy propulsive tunes. Perfect for Club Foot and all that. Not so much the ballads though and that’s where they went wrong - mostly stopped writing heavy floor fillers and moved towards generic rock with every album a diminishing return since their third.
He’ll be back in a few years though. Kasabian aren’t finished by a long shot.
