The Spanish fan confirms that Noel has gotten the noelgallagher.com domain name. But apparently he got it almost a year ago and the papers are a bit out of date. "The Oasis fan who bought Noel Gallagher's web domain name, Noelgallagher.com, 10 years ago has got in touch with NME to say he never negotiated a deal to give it back to the guitarist, as had been reported in the papers. Javier Romero said he was more than pleased with his dealings with Noel, and he offered to give him back the domain name for free. "They offered me a soundcheck pass [for one of his shows at the London Royal Albert Hall last March], then the meet and greet," he said. "All Noel's crew were very friendly. I can only say good things to about Noel, and hope he can say the same about me."" www.nme.com/news/daily-gossip/54810

^ I remember a thread devoted to congratulating Liam on keeping everything so under the radar. But Noel is taking this under the radar thing to a whole new level. Seriously...it's amazing.
He's probably managed to record the whole album and we've only really started realising that this past month.

^He's just gonna sit on that album and keep tweeking it here and there, until he's ready to release it. We'll probably actually hear a song somewhere in the fall.

Someone did a retrospective thing to see if the domain had ever been used and found that it had been used and was in Spanish. The fact that it is now is blank means that Noel is probably having the site designed. But it hasn't launched yet so of course it isn't there. Beadyeyemusic.com was probably registered by them months before it's launch as well.

Noel just confirmed the whole noelgallagher.com thing on Talksport. He said it happened over a year ago, maybe even 2009 he says. He doesn't know why the story just broke now.

Also, when they were wrapping up, they asked him if he is indeed recording new stuff. Noel then said, emphasizing "new", "I'm not currently recording any new stuff." He then ended saying something like "later rather than sooner" and "it'll be done when its done"

This Steve Ithell guy changed the name of the beady eye gigs on facebook, so he could work for big brother. Of course he does. His email Address is rkid.co.uk which is a domain registered to Big Brother Recordings. Noel didn't even need to confirm it.

He then ended saying something like "later rather than sooner" and "it'll be done when its done" He also said that he hadn't picked up a guitar in months last year...but we know that Miles Kane put down guitar parts and I doubt that Noel was in a studio with Miles Kane recording anthing and not played the guitar unless Miles Kane is lying...and why would he? I think he's being cagey. I think that he is just cautious about wasting the hype. I think when he finally admits that he is doing anything then information about the release will come very quickly as opposed to when we were watching BDI and knowing they were working for almost a year before they started saying anything.

^^I agree. I think Noel just doesn't want to talk about it. Noel is def. working on an album and I don't think its just old songs.
Should be out either late this year, or early next year.

On the subject of wideboys setting up Domain Names of famous people or trademarks and hoping to cash in later, well this idea has been done before;
some wiseguy took out the copyright to the name '21st Century Fox' before the actual film company did, hoping that they could extract megabucks from FOX, selling them the rights.
So far, FOX haven't relented, and still trade as '2oth Century Fox', even 11 years into the new Century.

I think thats got more to do with the public's familiarity and assurance with the 20th century brand name more than anything.
