i stopped following the knicks after they traded patrick ewing away, then sort of started up again two years ago or so. i was always a big melo fan (and chauncey, too... fellow cu alum!), so i was happy to see them come to new york. now i'm following them a little bit more, needless to say.

Did you see the Knicks last night? Holy hell what an epic 4th quarter failure that was.
And why would you like Melo? He's such a baby. Lost all respect for him a few years ago when he slapped that dude at MSG and moved backward faster than he'd ever moved forward.

Were you a big fan? How did the people of Ohio take "The Decision"? I mean I saw some stuff on ESPN but what was it like in the trenches?

Ouch. Were you a big fan? How did the people of Ohio take "The Decision"? I mean I saw some stuff on ESPN but what was it like in the trenches? i'm a casual fan. i live near Columbus, far enough away from the ghost town that is Cleveland these days. when Lebron James made them a great team i paid more attention. i'm more of a fan of good games but alot of people were, and still are pissed about the whole situation. 'the decision' was ridiculous in the way he approached it but i don't really blame him for leaving. Cleveland never landed a great player or had a great coach with Lebron there. Shaq way past his prime doesn't cut it. Jamison's ok but not great. like i said, i like good games, Heat vs. Celtics, Lakers vs. Spurs, doesn't matter.

Ahhh, i'm the same way. I tend to only watch the good teams. I keep up with things pretty well but only care to watch games with the Lakes, Celtics, Heat, Bulls etc
Before The Decision i thought he was going to stay. I didn't think he'd be stupid enough to have a live TV event and announce he's leaving like that. BUT, that aside, I don't understand some of the hate he gets for going to Miami. He's the first superstar in his prime to actually follow through with the whole "its all about winning" bullshit. I think he's a mega-douche but I have to hand it to him for doing what many before him haven't for one reason or another.

Chicago Bulls right here. DRose and The Bulls are rolling. I'm hoping they can go deep into the playoffs. I feel pretty pretty good about this year. Especially if the Bulls can get that #1 seed. Of all the teams in The Decision, the Bulls somehow came out the best. Even better than the Heat.

Anyone catch the Suns/Lakers game the other night? Best game I've seen so far this year. CRAZY triple OT.
Saw the highlights of the Knicks loss from last night...couldn't help but notice the shot of Melo's half-ass transition defense. Can't remember who he was trailing but he could've easily caught him if he tried, but you see him pull up and jog down instead of contest the layup. I don't understand how the guy has fans. He's the new Vince Carter if you ask me.

Another massive Bulls fan here. I'm sooooooo happy we didn't land any of the big three this past summer. People really wanted LbJ in Chicago and it made no sense to me. Fuck that guy.
Deng has really come on this year, and Boozer is serviceable. Seems Noah hasn't found his rhythm after his injury. Of course, DRose is the best player in the league. I went through a spell where I disliked him, because...seriously..if you have someone take your SAT for you bcz you're that stupid, you shouldn't be making millions. But..he's humble, he's hungry, and he's the best PG in the league. Chris Paul and DeRon Williams are way over-hyped. No one drives and elevates like DRose. Thought MJ was way outta line saying that crap about six more titles during the reunion halftime show, but...it could happen. Gotta hold on to that one seed.
Love the NBA game, petered out on the college game. So many of my friends are exact opposite. Hey...the ten on the floor in an NBA game can all BALL. College has been so watered down with freshmen being the stars.
Bulls/Mavericks finals...Bulls in six.

I would be SHOCKED if the Mavs made it that far. They're notorious chokers. I know it's cheesy picking the top 2 seeds, but the West HAS to be Lakers or Spurs. Lakers are looking REAL strong right now. 14-1 since the all-star break and even Ron Artest is playing well. As long as they don't have an injury down the stretch here it's hard to pick against them.
I can't wait to see what Chicago does in the playoffs. They're the perfect example of a legit "team" in the NBA. They have one guy emerging as a real superstar, a couple guys who are borderline all stars and a bunch of really good role players that fit perfectly in their system.
The Knicks are going nowhere. The Celtics are running on fumes, but I think they're still a strong favorite to go to the ECF. I think they'd struggle against Chicago but could handle the Heat. As much as I like DWade (if i root for Miami, i'm really just rooting for Wade), i'm kind of hoping the Heat don't do too well just to see the media shit storm aftermath and whatever bullshit Lebron would have to say. He's such a douche, haha.

The Nuggets are making some serious noise right now. The West playoffs are going to be insane. Portland could upset their first round opponent, same with Nuggets. Lakers are going to be tough as long as Kobe doesn't shoot them out of any games. Bynum is playing like an animal right now.
The east is going to be fairly standard. I don't see Orlando doing much. It's gonna be Chicago, Miami or Boston.
The West is a crapshoot though. Only thing i'm counting on is the Mavs losing in the 1st round again. I wish they'd just blow that team up already. Dirk is a great player but he needs to be a number 2. He's too mentally weak to be the #1 guy.

Huge Lakers fan since early 90's. This season's been a rollercoaster for LAL. Strange record since All-Star weekend. Won games against the Suns, Blazers, Spurs, Mavs, then lost to Golden State, Jazz and all that. But I still place my bets on Gasol, Bynum and Bryant. These guys know how to play in a playoff.

Yeah i'm more apt to believe in the Lakers i've seen since the all star break, not the team that just lost to the warriors and jazz. I was just looking at the West standings and the Lakers will breeze through the first round if they end up with New Orleans. I'm DYING for the playoffs to start. Would be amazing to go to a game but i live in the fucking middle of nowhere.

East- Heat/Bulls West- Lakers/Thunder Finals- Heat/Lakers Winner- Heat Really? You're taking the Heat to beat the Lakers? I could see them beating the Bulls, and I'm a Bulls fan. But the Lakers?!? East-Heat/Bulls West- Lakers/Thunder Finals-Bulls/Lakers Winner? -I really don't wanna pick against the Bulls But the Lakers. The only way I could see either the Heat or The Bulls beat the Lakers is if Andrew Bynum doesn't make it through the playoffs, and even then I wouldn't pick the Heat. In the playoffs, who ever wins the rebounding battle, will almost always win the game. If the Heat faced Lakers, I just don't see how they win the rebounding battle on any night. Heat are too small, the Lakers are just too big. The Heat play a full court game and the playoffs are a half court game. And this year, the Heat have been their worse when they have had to play a half court game. Lakers vs. Heat is a complete mis-match. And for the record, the Heat have the same problem with Bulls. The Bulls would/should win the rebound battle against the Heat, every night. And if I were the Lakers, I would be really really really worried about the Thunder. They're younger, they're just as big, and they have the NBA scoring leader in Durant. But what's even worse fir the Lakers is the fact that they've got Kendrick Perkins, and the Lakers really don't have anyone who stop Perkins on the boards. I'll take the Lakers, but it will take 7 close games.

Really? You're taking the Heat to beat the Lakers? I could see them beating the Bulls, and I'm a Bulls fan. But the Lakers?!? yeah, i kinda based my picks on Andrew Bynum being hurt, and Manu Ginobli being hurt for the Spurs. also, the Heat beat the Lakers in both of their games this year.

Derrick Rose is really good and the Bulls' only great player, which is why i don't think the Bulls will win the east, eventually a team will shut him down.
