I think some on here were expecting way too much.
As far as catch straight forward pop-rock songs go - it one of the best around at the moment!
It's better than My Chemical Romance's NA NA NA NA NA!!!!!

I keep finding myself singing "baby come on" over and over again so its stuck in my head This. It's not a masterpiece, it's not a classic. But on 10/11/10 there was a lot of people talking about Beady Eye, who might not have before or people who may not have heard of them before. OK so some was good and some was bad but they were interested and they'll want more. A lot of them people will be walking around like you and like me with that line firmly planted into their memory. The song has grabbed peoples attention and left a mark and that may just help them sell a lot of records.

i like that it's different from what we've been used to as of recently. it doesn't have that noel dad-rock vibe, but is full of life and energy. it's got that punk attitude that liam had so much of in the early days, while trying to expand the horizons of what they can do. (honestly, who could have seen a piano-driven song with the female singers coming?) it's far from a masterpiece, but it certainly isn't the worst song i've ever heard. it's a step in a good direction for the boys. I completely agree. I really dig that it has a happy vibe and it's just nice to listen to. Seems like the guys were having fun at the studio, and I think that's really good news.

People on here expected way too much and maybe I did too, but in perspective 'Bring The Light' is a million times better than the crap today in the charts.
Looking forward to hearing more!

It's like a faster paced Lyla mixed with the lightheartedness of Digsy Dinner, taking the "Come On"s and a few "Yeah Yeahs" from Columbia, stirred with a Jerry Lee Lewis piano driven track, shaken altogether in a 60s retro vibe.

Now I know what song it sounds like - BRMC's Steal a Ride my thoughts exactly for anyone interested Uhhh....how the hell do they sound alike? They're similarly paced, that's about it.

Well, I waited up for it last night and have listening to it for long enough to make a decent judgement now. still coudlnt' download it officially so thanks to the kind person who uploaded to share with us.
Overall, it's ok to not bad. I don't mind it. I can definitely see the purpose in releasing this one, to shed all expectations. That's fine, and that the song doesnt really go anywhere, well, this sort of song is just fun and doesn t have to to accomplish its purpose.
The good: Its different (ie we expected the 60s, we got the 50s with backup singers) and they were brave enough to do something completely unexpected. Don't think they didn't realize it might alienate a lot of the fan base.
It's a typical Liam song and thats not a bad thing, as he's really developed his own style. Infact, if this song had been a DBTT bside, many would have thought differently of it. It would have made a terrific DBTT bside.
The not so good:
It goes on too long. But that's a minor not major flaw. It really should be over by about 2 mins 20 or so.
The guitar solo is spectacularly generic. I don't care that its not 'guitar rock' but seriously, that solo is embarrasing considering the amount of talent in that group.
Maybe its just me, but the production is nothing special. It made me think right away of SOTSOG or MG and how beautifully produced they were.
The verse lyrics are ok by me, they're Liam all right. But the endless barrage of "baby come on"'s is really half-assed. The one or two in the build up are fine, but it never ends!
Overall: 6/10. Its decent, ok, not bad, but its not something I'd readily play to new ears. Maybe somewhere down the road, but not yet! I can see this sitting nicely on the album at track 4 for some reason.
Conclusion: I'm still very much looking forward to BDI.

Well, if it wasn't for the piano and the women backing vocals, Bring The Light would be just one more typical song by Liam. Short song, simple lyrics and melody. We don't even know if it was written by Liam, but that's just an opinion anyway.
I really like the piano, the women backing vocals (would never expect that, wonderful surprise) and the guitar riffs. Just think the song is a little bit too long for such poor lyrics. The "Baby come on" part at the end repeated several times is kind of annoying.
It isn't a classic but is far of being so horrible as a lot of people here have said. I'm still pretty confident about the album. I see Bring The Light just as their way of saying: "listen people, we are not Oasis anymore!". In that matter they deserve a lot of points.

C&A might have been a rip off but it's a brilliant song BTL isn't. I remember not that many fans actually thought that when we first heard Definitely Maybe! Songs like C&A, Columbia and Bring It On Down were GOOD- and got better over time. I'm sure the Beady Eye album could be like that - it's only been a day!

seems to me that not 1 single person on here gets the idea. New band, new sound, new ideas, NOT OASIS. It is a toe mearly dipped in the water, something to wet the appetite. all these oasis fans comparing and wishing just dont get it. In fact its safe to say that the ignorance and stupidity on here is bliss. like it or lump it its beady eye different and experimenting, embrace it or hate it just dont compare it.
top tune!!! for starters xx
