You can: burn my house down, murder everyone i love and become my worst enemy but I would never in a million years put you through the agony of listening to HC Indeed.

DOYS is simply half of a good album. When you start letting Andy, Gem, and Liam throw tracks on there out of principle you know the result is going to be poor at best.
Noel even said that there were at least 2 more tracks that would have replace a couple on the album, but Liam went Liam and didn't show up to record. If you switch out 2 songs, for 2 good ones the album would be listenable.
The first 5 tracks are decent, falling down is pretty good, and Soldier On is decent filler, but the rest is pretty well useless! If there were 9 decent tracks instead of 7 the album would be a much better listen.

HC suffers the same way that DOYS suffers. Except it suffers much more, even Noel's songs on that album suck.

I still really really like DOYS, shame about the last 3 songs, but who cares if the rest is that good. The whole album sounds more inspired than the 3 previous albums combined. Only DBTT comes close, but it doesn't have the rich sound DOYS has.

The album gets better as it develops. Bag it Up, The Turning and Waiting for the Rapture are just generic rock riffs that Greenday can boast of.

This is the only Oasis album which my opinion hasn't changed AT all. It has always been my 3rd worst album for me personally...Though it has to be said, the gap is VERY large between that and the one below it. As everybody else has said, after FD it dies off. In fact, to me, it almost sounds half arsed and half finished towards the end. Though, saying that, I have started digging TNOR and SO but not enough to really listen to them that often. Oh and for the record, DBTT I think is by far a supiour as an actual album, the way it flows is MILES better

The two non-remix tracks off the special edition extra CD are better then Tracks 6,8,9,10, and 11. Not to mention those 2 tracks that Noel said were completely left off DOYS. It could have been an epic album, but instead they continued with their niceties and made sure each member had a tune on it. What ever happened to putting out the best tunes? Oh wait, that died when Noel vetoed Stay Young in leu of Magic Pie! Non-sense.

The album gets better as it develops. Most of Beady Eye's future songs are just generic rock riffs that Greenday can boast of. Future me agrees.

I much prefer DOYS to both HC and DBTT. DBTT might have more of a flow, because DOYS' second half is inferior to the first, but for the songs and the production I much rather like DOYS. BIU, TT, FD, TSOTL (and IOT maybe) are just great. WFTR, TBWTL and SO are good. I don't know what to think of GOYHHL to be honest, but I don't like AGN and TNOR.
I'd like this: 1.Bag It Up 2.The Turning 3.Waiting For The Rapture 4.The Shock Of The Lightning 5.I'm Outta Time 6.High Horse Lady 7.Falling Down 8.To Be Where There's Life (more like the live version?) 9.The Boy With The Blues 10.I Believe in all 11.Soldier On
Okay, we have 3 Liam-songs in a row, but the order could have been changed. And I don't think that TBWTB and IBIA wouldn't fit at all. Anyhow, I'd rather want good songs on an album than shit songs that might fit better.

DOYS re-ordered:
1.Bag It Up 2.The Turning 3.I Believe In All 4.The Shock Of The Lightning 5.I'm Outta Time 6.Those Swollen Hand Blues 7.Falling Down 8.Soldier On 9.High Horse Lady 10.Waiting For The Rapture (remix) 11. The Boy With Blues
I prefer the album to be good as a whole. Forget all the BS and quit letting those who write shite to get songs on the album.

Still hard to separate DBTT and DOYS for me. Yes, DBTT flows much better and is more sing-songy, but DOYS has some really amazing tracks on it (BIU, TT, TSOTL, IOT, FD, WFTR....)
Depends on the mood I'm in, I guess.

I am actually quite interested in seeing what EVERYONE has to say on this, rather than just certain people

When you start letting Andy, Gem, and Liam throw tracks on there out of principle you know the result is going to be poor at best. i agree. the first half was nothing short of fantastic. the second was abysmal. sotsog was more of a mixed bag. there were some phenomenal songs, like "go let it out," "roll it over," "gas panic." at the same time, you had some horrid, horrid tracks like "put yer money where yer mouth is" and "little james."

why all the hate for 'to be where there's life' ? to me, that song was always a highlight during the d.o.y.s. tour ... i for one will be delighted if gem comes up with something as good for the beady eye album/project... also think soldier on is great as well (perhaps not great as the album closer, would fit in much better as a 'set up' track i.m.o. ... but a great album track none the less

It is also a commonly held belief on the board (from what I gather) that TBWTL is a song that sounds infinitely better live than on record. If the album version of the song were closer to the live version there probably wouldn't be so much hate.

I'll put it this way, in 20 yrs ill still be listening to TIOBI and LTBL off DBTT - there is not one song that I can envision myself listening to off DOYS in 20 years.
