You can: burn my house down, murder everyone i love and become my worst enemy but I would never in a million years put you through the agony of listening to DOYS

My true thoughts on DOYS was and is the worst album Oasis ever made and it's the only Oasis album which I only listened to a few times since I bought it.

Shock of The Lightning's ok but it just sounds like Oasis-by-numbers, I like Outta Time even though it's a Lennon pastiche and Falling Down's a good song but the rest alternates between disappointing and dire. I really don't get the excitement over Bag It Up and The Turning either. It was time to call it a day.

The first four songs on the album are the shit, the rest is just shit.
I'm pretty sick of everything after 'The Shock...', but those first four tracks have the spirit and swagger of rock n roll embedded in their grooves and I listen to them still pretty much a fucking shitload every week.
TBWTL coulda been a contender, the live versions are still immense, the rest of the LP is nothing to get excited about at all.

WOW surprised by the views on DOYS. I love it, DBTT on the other hand.....meh. Funny.. DBTT is a much better album than DOYS imo. DOYS only works well from tracks 1 to 7. The start of this album is beyond amazing. But after Falling Down it kinda dies. The studio version of To Be Where There's Life is very boring, it should've been like the live version. The the other tracks go nowhere. I quite like Soldier On though.

DOYS is great, 8/10 for me, the production is top notch, to understand DOYS production you have to hear albums like Exile On Main Street or Pornography wich is more murcky and dense, if you hear DOYS expecting another MG poppier anthemic sound then you'll be very disapointed.

Why be negative? If you don't like it...why think about it?
Some of us like it. Some of us don't.
I personally do...although it definitely goes downhill a bit after FD.
I didn't really like it the first time I heard it. But I like it more and more the more I hear the songs. It's a grower for me.

I went back and forth with my opinion on this album ever since it's release and now I can say that I think the ideas were there but some songs needed more time.
i.e, TBWTL is too slow and it obviously needed to sound more like the live versions with the guitars and cool outro. There's a fan made version of the song which I listen to rather than the original album version (I think it's the 'Nez' version) which is kinda sad but fair play to whoever mixed that because it's great.
I like the singles especially 'Falling Down' and the best songs on DOYS are 'WFTR' and 'Soldier On' and I really like 'I Believe In All' too.
I think 'Aint got Nothin' is the only song I don't like. HHL and TNOR are okay.
BIU and TT are both brilliant but DOYS is not as good a listen DBTT. IMHO.

DOYS is far from shit, and is just 3 replacement tracks away from being an all out classic.

My true thoughts on DOYS was and is the worst album Oasis ever made Heathen Chemistry? my list below is pretty much set in stone I love Heathen Chemistry. It was my second Oasis album I bought when I got into them in 2004. HC has got the great opening tune - The Hindu Times. This song always gives me some kind of energy. I'm not going to fight against other member's opinion about DOYS. I didn't expect an another WTSOMG when DOYS came out. It was the disaster to listen to the whole album for the first time. It's just me and my honest opinion - it's the worst Oasis album and I still think it's a shame that it was their "last" studio album. PS: I still love Oasis. They're one of my life time bands.

I really love DOYS, I listen to it all the time and it's one of my favourite oasis albums. It sure has a few not-so-good tunes, but so have all the others. It's a rocking album, it definitely showed another side of oasis and other influences on Noel (like the german progressive rock bands) but it still has that typical sing-along side that always marked them. I think it has proved that oasis were still a great band that makes great rock and roll music.

DOYS is far from shit, and is just 3 replacement tracks away from being an all out classic. The thing is that the DOYS era does not have amazing b-sides like previous albuns. I Believe In All is a good song? Yes, but definitely not better than any of the songs on the album. The Boy With The Blues is an amazing track but it wouldn't sound right on DOYS.. it has that DBTT vibe (as we all know it was recorded by the time of DBTT sessions). Same thing happens with Those Swollen Hand Blues, as much as I love this song (I really do) it also has that DBTT vibe and wouldn't fit at all. And NO, we can't count Come On It's Alright cos' we never listened the track. If Record Machine was properly recorded like Noel wanted it to be (with choir, orchestra and Liam's vocals) then it could possibly improve DOYS a little bit.

^ But that is a criticism of the singles basically and what they did with them....not the album
I wish that their had been B-sides as well though...DOYS wasn't a singles album in any sense of the word.

Let's say you replaced TNOR, AGN, and HLL/SO with 3 filler songs like TBWTB, IBIA, and STC (in current format). Well, those 3 new songs may be filler, but they're are better than the current filler, and are not really worse than stuff like Shakermaker or Hey Now.... The quality songs on DOYS are really good. The album is let down by the filler......

I don't think Stop The Clocks would be a filler. I wouldn't put it on DOYS though cos' it also sounds like the DBTT tracks.

I respects everyones opinion... I just think the lyrics are laughable and the sound of flat. I really wanted to like this album. I didn't make it through most of the songs

Dig out your soul is one of my favourite Oasis albums. Only song i cant stand is get off your high horse lady.
Think the rest are superb. Thought the first 4 songs are epic on DOYS.
Dont believe the truth was very good but mucky fingers, guess god thinks i'm able and part of the queue i find very dull. More like b-sides. Would have liked to have seen Eyeball Tickler make the album
