BLACK SABBATH by BLACK SABBATHNot really listened to this band before, thought I'd throw their debut on for something different. Enjoyed it. The first track was the standout, with it's doom-inspiring riff and languid pace, but the whole thing had good riffs and energy, and I enjoyed the stripped-back production, too. Put their next two albums in my library.

Put their next two albums in my library. The next two albums are better than the first. Sabbath are a bit like Oasis in that their first three albums are excellent and essential but after that they can be a bit patchy. Still the odd brilliant song but never quite keep the quality for a full album. X

Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables. Been listening to this album loads recently. Wife is starting to get a bit sick of me chanting “Pol Pot” around the house now though... X

After 2Pac - All Eyez On Me was mentioned the other day I thought I’d give Notorious BIG - Life After Death a spin. Hate double CD albums with a passion so I cut the album down to this playlist...
1) Life After Death Intro 2) Somebody’s Gotta Die 3) Hypnotize 4) Kick In The Door 5) What’s Beef? 6) Ten Crack Commandments 7) I Got a Story to Tell 8) Niggas Bleed 9) Going Back to Cali 10) My Downfall 11) Long Kiss Goodnight 12) You’re Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You)
Hell of a listen.

I'm all for cutting the fat off albums, but this seems a bit harsh to me. You've taken off some of the most iconic tracks, especially Mo Money Mo Problems. This is my version of Life After Death: 1. Life After Death 2. Somebody's Gotta Die 3. Hypnotise 4. Kick in the Door 5. I Love the Dough 6. What's Beef? 7. Mo Money Mo Problems 8. N****s Bleed 9. I Got a Story to Tell 10. Notorious Thugs 11. Dead Wrong 12. Miss U 13. Going Back to Cali 14. Ten Crack Commandments 15. My Downfall 16. Long Kiss Goodnight 17. You're Nobody (Till Somebody Kills You) That still clocks in at a hefty 80 minutes, but hey, they didn't call him Biggie for nothing

Definitely better (and better than the SP last EP - or LP - ), although it's too long, 17 tracks. 12 track would have been enough. I didnt really like Ogilala, did not grab my hear, but this one i gave it a real chance and there's some good tunes on there. The Future Embrace was shit yeah, i gotta say i have not listened to it since it came out though.

Bob Dylan's Shadows in the Night (2015) and Fallen Angels (2016).
Think I like these more than the brace of folk covers albums he did in the early 90s. More my kind of thing. Also, Bob sounds great!

What do you think of it? I saw it in the shop today and was surprised to see a new Who (Pete and Roger) album.

The cure - Paris
(One of my favourite live albums, it highlights their darker more moody material in lieu of big hits)
