29/08/09 Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning. As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock'n'roll pop group Oasis. The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new. I would like firstly to offer my apologies to them kids in Paris who'd paid money and waited all day to see us only to be let down AGAIN by the band. Apologies are probably not enough, I know, but I'm afraid it's all I've got. While I'm on the subject, I'd like to say to the good people of V Festival that experienced the same thing. Again, I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it. In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories. Now, if you'll excuse me I have a family and a football team to indulge. I'll see you somewhere down the road. It's been a fuckin' pleasure. Thanks very much. Goodbye. NG. why is noel all of a sudden writing like a posh bloke? LOLbecause he is being geniune and speaking as noel the person, not noel the rock star/celebrity. he is reaching out and offering up a sincere apology and gratitude to the fans. now let's see liam do the same.

jesus christ. you act like they all died in an airplane crash. Not saying I wish anyone death or anything, but that would have been easier to handle. With death it's final. It's the end. It's all over. But here we're left speculating, hoping, and unsure if Oasis will ever exist again. That uncertainty is what makes all this hard for everyone.

NYR is... F**k Bloc Party ,,,,,,,,,, WHY DONT YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET PEOPLE GIVE THEIR VIEW ON THE SITUATION when somebody says that he'd rather people die for his own closure, i'm going to call that person out for it. it's beyond absurd. ...and i thought miley cyrus had some crazy fans.

Yeah, wishing the members of the band had died instead is beyond selfish, and you should probably have your head checked.

Jesus Christ, some of you are illiterate.
I said right off the bat that I wished no one death.
Stop being so ignorant. You fail to think sometimes. What's easier to accept: Something being 100% over, or something being open ended and speculative?
FFS.

What's easier to accept: Something being 100% over, or something being open ended and speculative? FFS. some people are really acting like children about this breakup. What's childish is not realizing that people act differently to situations and that what's easy to shake off for one is harder to accept for another. Do you see anyone really criticizng those who don't give a shit? I could say to NYR that he's not a true Oasis fan. But I know that's not true, and I know that's excessive. So for him and others to say that some on here are over reacitng is just as absurd. I think when you post thousand of times for many years while checking this site multiple times daily it's going to be hard to accept that it's all over. And my guess is these naysayers like NYR feel it too, but they're just trying to act cool. Y'know, it's not exactly weak to feel something. I'm proud that I care this much. Oasis meant the world to me, and I'm not ashamed to show that. However, you lot should be ashamed to hide it. You, not me, need to grow up.

P.S. Anyone who claims "Oasis was just a band" simply doesn't belong on this forum. We all know they meant much more than that. So fuck off.

It's the Kasabian boys I feel sorry for. They'll be like kids caught in the middle of a parents divorce. "Of course we still love you Liam, but Noel's invited us to go fishing with him. Maybe we could go to the zoo next week."
