i'm really not sure what the big deal is here; Liam had a sore throat and was unable to perform. The suggestion that Noel would do an acoustic set is just silly - the stage set up, lighting rig and visuals are all tailored for the tour set they've been playing all summer. its a shame they pulled out, although i was at stafford on Saturday and it was one of the worst Oasis performances i've seen, very lacklustre, terrible sound (Noel's guitar barely audible) and an awful crowd.

for me its more that fact that had this been any other normal Oasis gig it would have been rescheduled..... but it wont and the tickets cost a lot more than your normal Oasis gig and they wont get refunded. Blah blah there were other bands to see and yes there was but I didnt purchase tickets for them.

Not to be a dick but thats the risk you took when you bought those tickets. The risk of if they do pull out the gig probably won't be made up.

I wonder if Noel would've stepped up to lead had he not been ill himself? I know he did in Dublin about '97 (as seen here with Roll With It and Cig's and Alcohol). The over-reaction of this in the press though is just beyond belief. They cancel gigs due to illness...how does that result in a possible breakup? All credit to those doing the Oasis covers though, I hope those who had gone there to see Oasis appreciated them.

Obviously you can't really refund festival tickets if only 1 band pulls out, but this is where a refund is needed and not at the one where people actually got refunds! A bit ironic.

I went all the way over there just to see Oasis (amidst a 2 week european vacation), and they cancelled just before I went inside. Did i expect anything else?
