This is no appreciation thread, cos I sure fucking don't. Hate this this song.
The only saving grace is the solo at 2.30 - not even a good solo, but it's the only decent part of the song.
This is the worst track since PYMWYMI (or Better Man).....[LJ has a nice melody and a better solo, ICIAL has great energy despite the poor lyrics, and AGN isn't good but it's a MOS 2.0 and no way in hell worse than TNOR.....]
As much as I don't like Andy (he's ok, but ut of all the members I like him the least....he really does lack a personality....) I don't blame him for this song. Andy didn't want it on the album, he said it was a personal song, and Noel was the one who made the decision (still boggles my mind how much a genius Noel is but he can never pick the right track listing, especially since and including BHN)
Horrible 'song'.

I like it. Different sounding to anything Oasis have ever done before. The solo is really good but way too short, if it had have been longer it would be as good as the TIOBI solo.

I like it too, it's really different. The stop-start pattern gets me everytime. The crushing heavy bluesy riff and the helter skelter thing...very nice. I think its a good track. Would have been really interesting to hear this one live, even at a soundcheck. Just like TBWTL, could lead into some great jammmed bits.

I remember supersonic83 saying it was the 'third best' song on the album. While clearly no masterpiece, it's a solid Neil Young & Crazy Horse-esque grunge rocker with effective use of guitar feedback and a trippliy memorable outro. Again, like I'm Outta Time, it seems underdeveloped and two or three minutes too short but it's far from being the worst on the album.

I dont mind it, usual filler near the end of an album. Strangely i like the song a fair bit as i havent played it to death like the others.
Since day 1 the worst song for me is get off your high horse lady, cant stand it.

Since I'm listening to 'DOYS' a lot lately after not listening to it at all for about 3 months earlier in the year, I find myself liking some songs that I didn't really like including 'TNOR'. It's not a brilliant song but it's good enough. The solo is pretty good even it's a bit short.

I can't stand that song, really, I'll always defender DOYS, but for me TNOR is the only song that I don't like on it. One of their worst.

It's definitely better than the pile of horse manure that was High Horse Lady. It's not the greatest song but it's not 'horrible'

The best way to describe TNOR is 'inoffensive'. A bit like Andy himself; he's just kinda 'there' but makes very little impact. How could you really in a band with two monsterous and volatile Gallagher egos? A good muso and all but he's a bit ho-hum. His job, it seems, is mostly to massage the brothers' egos, Liam's especially. Let's face it, you'd have to be a benign kind of person to be around Liam and Noel constantly, otherwise you'd punch them out. The way Andy bangs on about the apparent brilliance of Liam's songwriting is misguided to say the least...
TNOR is perfectly listenable but it's highly derivative of a style of music past. Unlike Noel who also plagiarises, Andy can't seem to build on a particular sound to make something brilliant like Gallagher senior does. The lyrics are probably the worst aspect of the track- absurd, quasi-spiritual cliches. I can take it or leave it myself.

When you compare it to the songs he contributed to DBTT it's a bit disappointing I guess. Listening to it at the moment and it does fit the overall sound of DOYS like a glove and I was thinking maybe that's the only reason it's there.

The grooviest guitar riff they've ever done in my opinon.

its not the shittest song they've done. Its got a good riff and it sounds like nothing they've done before. My only complaint would be that the melody is really really weak. Liam's sneer is the only reason it sounds average.

TNOR makes TBWTL look like a hit single
underdeveloped and the saving grace is the solo and the huge sound of the drums. otherwise the same level as a SOTSOG era throwaway

I don't mind it, it has a great drum pattern, guitar solo, piano part etc. But as others have said, he didn't want it on the album. Noel & Gem talked of it in the XFM thing, and they said something along the lines of 'He puts his 5 demos on a CD in order of best to worst, and NOR was the last track, and Andy was really surprised that we wanted to use that one'

like most of the songs written by liam/andy/gem, it feels uncompleted (in terms of lyrics). other than that, solid tune. love how crunchy it is.

i prefer just listning to liams vocal from the multitracks to be honest, the solo's decent but it should of been at least twice as long
