Smash It Up by The Damned was played according to a post on their forum, followed by posts about Noel's first gig and single bought, being both by The Damned.

Smash It Up by The Damned was played according to a post on their forum, followed by posts about Noel's first gig and single bought, being both by The Damned. I thought that Noels first gig was Adam & the Ants at Manchester Apollo. As for first single, I dont know but I wouldnt have thought it would be the Damned, rather the Jam.

Not sure about the gig post being correct but I've read somewhere that "I Just Can't Be Happy Today" may have been the first single he bought. It's from "Machine gun Etiquette" relaesed in 1979.
