Oasis performed at Wembley just last year...I'm not quite following what all the hype is about.
Was last year's gig at the old Wembley? Is the upcoming show at the new Wembley? lol

I've not received my Wembley tickets yet. Im not worrried. The Oasis management are most probably delaying the release, to make it difficult for touts on ebay.
I agree that Wembley will be a great atmosphere. I was at Heaton Park, which was more like the main stage at a large festival.
The atmosphere within Wembley stadium should make for a better gig.

People in 2001 would have been looking at a load of rubble since after the Oasis concert in July 2000 and then a Bon fucking Jovi concert a week later the place was demolished and rebuilt.
I didn't go but the Saturday night was live on Sky One, I just remember the atmosphere was so volatile and dangerous between a clearly pissed out of his brain Liam and Noel's attempt to keep the gig going ("can I just say peace and love to everybody in the stadium").
I can't remember why but I remember thinking the setlist was a bit lack luster at the time, subsequent viewings and listens (to both nights) on Familiar To Millions confirm that the group was at the peak of their live powers, playing ferocious, visceral re-definitions of the early singles, I don't think they've ever bettered the versions of Supersonic, Shakermaker, Acquiesce, Cigarttes and Alcohol, also the versions of Rock n Roll Star, Champagne Supernova, Live Forever etc were superbly played. I like that they didn't finish with I am the Walrus or My Generation either, I'm so sick of both..
The other thing that rises this gig over others is the running banter between Noel and Liam, Noel had abandoned the tour and the group had been playing without him until a few gigs previous to Wembley and Liam was in his usual mood to wind Noel up, both nights of their back-and-forth banter is as entertaining as the music, and that's meant as the highest praise.

I live in Brazil. My tickets ain't gonna arrive by the time I leave to Paris (June 23rd). What should I do? I'm sending Ticketmaster an e-mail explaining the situation. Hope it works and I can collect my tickets by the time I get to London.

Anyone here who was there in 2001 ? I want a story I was there on the Friday night - it was 2000, not 2001. Anyway, it was kind of a last minute decision to go as I had been a couple of weeks earlier to see them in Dublin. When the dates were announced we chose the Dublin concert to go to because we thought we could make a weekend of it. Dublin was ok, but not great - it was Noel's first show back since the walk-out and he really looked like he didn't want to be there. The crowd were a bit crap as well, to be honest. The week of the Wembley concert I happened to be on travel for work in London. While I was there I heard that some extra tickets had been released, so I managed to get a couple. I managed to extend my stay by an extra night in a real posh hotel and have work pay for it, which was a bonus. I met one of my mates that Friday lunchtime straight from work and we started drinking in Mayfair (near my office) and then headed out to Wembley around 6pm, I think. It was a mental crowd, packed full of lads - and plenty of girls flashing, which is always nice. I think the support band were the Happy Mondays, can't really remember, nobody was there for the support band. I do remember the DJ playing Come Together right before Oasis came on. One of the stand out things about that concert was how mental the crowd were. We were near the front of the main section and as soon as FITB started, we knew it was going to be a rough night. It was every man for himself, you literally had to kick and punch other people just to stay upright. Some of the surges were so bad you would end up 20 or 30 feet away from where you started. I've been to many football (soccer) games over the years and been crushed many times on the terraces, but this was far worse. All of the mental songs like Roll With It and C&A caused the biggest crowd surges - and we were all trying to jump, but sometimes my feet didn't touch the ground for an entire song. It really was dangerous and I lost count of the amount of people we had to help back up, otherwise they would have been crushed to death, no exaggeration. Noel was in slightly better mood than Dublin - Liam was actually in top form this night, so much so, he went on an all night bender and messed up big style the next night for live TV. I remember making good use of the shower back at the hotel - I was drenched in beer and other liquids (I know now what it was) - and that stuff i can do without now I'm in my 30's :-)
