Its funny that I never really noticed that, and its a shame that songs not on it, because SCYHO is one of the best songs Oasis has ever done easily

I really do wish they had put more songs from HC on Stop the Clocks. Songbird is decent, but just that. And THT and SCYHO easily trumps that.

Everyone knows STC is a cheap collection of novelty songs intended for the casual Oasis fan, to finish the deal with Sony and properly cash in on DBTT.
Noel didn't even support it at first, it has no credibility at all. To me, it's not a real Oasis album. Merely a bootleg for the collectors or new fans...
It worked, lets move on. We got a couple of nice Noel solo gigs and a demo version of Cigarettes And Alcohol. We can't really complain. Which one of us here doesn't own all the Oasis CDs anyway? Who needs a Best Of?

I know - unbelievable. How this song gets overlooked by many is beyond me.

It should have been a bigger hit than it was. I dont know what happened for me they put it in their weekest album (its a good album tough) but maybe that took credit of the song i like more SYCHO than SB i think they only put SB in stop the cloks only for they have a liam track in the album (even tough it's a great track) but that's my opinion

i waver between it's ok and disliking it. generic ballad. Partially the lyrics fault. i think the melody and structure is pretty cliche too, it's always struck me as one of those songs Noel wrote when he didn't know what else to do(like much of HC). i prefer let there be love in pretty much every way.

I don't care what way it was written, if it was forced or whatever! It's a brilliant song. It saved Heathen Chemistry. Everybody likes the song, well, everyone I know. The song is the closest Oasis has sounded like the MG era.

Agreed. It's a good tune but not amazing. There were other tracks (Rockin' Chair, Don't Go Away, Whatever, DYKWIM) which deserved to be on STC ahead of it.

It's a fantastic song and arguably the closest Noel has come in recent years to recreating his incredible songwriting streak that lasted up to Be Here Now.
I can't believe someone thinks Let There Be Love is better. Still, each to their own!
In terms of why it wasn't more popular at the time - maybe the fact that Liam butchered it every time they did it live had something to do with it.
Other than that I have no idea why it's been so criminally underrated.

Imagine how big it would of been if it was promoted properly as the lead single? Wonderwall Huge? I also think we're not going to hear a song of that popish sound ever again from Oasis. Especially with what direction DOYS is taking the band. I think Noel is just sick of producing them type of songs. He didn't even want Lyla or Let There Be Love on the last album FFS. Without them two songs the album would of failed.

funny how different tastes oasis fans have. SCYHO isn't in my top 20 maybe 30 oasis tunes.

its pretty good. It blew my mind when i first heard it. Its a great song I can see how people think its generic though. For me this song should have be huge in America. If Oasis has had one true american hit of this decade it would have been this. As for me, after hearing it through out the years its lost some of its magic but it still remains as a good song.

Its just one of those really moving songs. I mean, if your ever down, and need to think about something, This song will just push you to the verge of tears. Its a great tune, I think most people on this board would have it in their top 10 Oasis songs

Massively great song. Simple as that. Had it been on Morning Glory it would have been right there with WW, DLBIA, and CS. It's the timing. Again.
Could very well be Noel's top ballad. Won at least 2 top songwriting awards that I can think of...this wasn't an accident.
To be real honest, amongst my "non-Oasis" friends, it may be their favorite.
