I really can't believe Live Forever looks like it won't be played this tour. I'm glad I saw them in Atlanta last tour and got to see it live . . .

Did the new material sound good? Particularly the songs we haven't heard yet??

Sound better though? I know TMOS, at least to me, sounded way better live. Definitely better. I liked the demo anyways. Liam's little songs like MOS and Songbird.. I've always liked them, and it's along those lines of course.

I'd be gutted if I saw them and they didn't play Live Forever. If there is one, and only one song they need to keep, it would be Live Forever (and DLBIA )

Was dont look back in anger acoustic or electric? Acoustic, spotlight on Noel. Then Gem came out and added a nice solo. Good stuff.

and the big question . . . Liams voice . . . whats the verdict? I thought it was excellent. But I don't have anything to compare it, too (my first concert)... wayyyy better than the Brit Awards.

No problem. Slide Away or Supersonic or CS... probably the best of the night.
I'm off to bed, night all!

So, just got back from the show. Other than getting soaked in the Seattle rain on the walk back to the car, and having to sit through Ryan Adams, it was a great night.
One big bummer. I made a bootleg of the whole show with stereo mic that I just bought for 100 bucks. I got home and plugged it in to listen and the concert was so freaking loud that all you can hear is distorting drums, bass, and a small remnant of song. I made sure the audio wasn't clipping out, but the fact was that the sound was so loud it was just overloading the microphone. I recorded all the new songs, but trust me, you don't want to hear it.
Liam's voice was very nasally and gravelly, but also had more range than he has had in the past few years. It was not the clear sounding voice of old. He also was doing that thing were he kind of lazily pronounces words like he did on the FTM recording. But he did have his moments. Some songs were pretty bad, but others were closer to being spot on. Overall I would rate his voice (10/10 being the 1995 touring days) around a 6/10. It started pretty poor, but he sounded much better as the night went on.
TSOTL and Falling Down were both MASSIVE live. They sounded amazing. They played Ain't Got Nothing and To Be Where There's Life (spotted the title in the lyrics, that's how I could tell), and both were alright. Ain't Got Nothing sounded exactly like the demo. To Be Where There's Life was a slower droning song. It had a pretty heavy groove and not much chorus to speak of. But it was a good song I thought. But I only heard it once, so, it is tough to have a good opinion.
Chris Sharrock was PHENOMENAL on drums. If anyone is worried, don't be. He is already my favorite Oasis drummer. The guy plays drums like a madman, and he *deep breath* looks like he is actually having a good time while doing it. Maybe it is just me, but I like a drummer who looks as if he is having a blast. Because drummers should be, they get to hit stuff with sticks for a living. That is a great job.
RNRS was a great opener, got the crowd going. Morning Glory was one of my favorite songs of the night. Liam sounded very good on it. Slide away was not very good. Liam cheated on most of the high notes and didn't sing them. His voice just sounded like the Familiar To Millions -- lazy, tired and gravelly.
The Masterplan was fantastic. Don't Look Back In Anger was also fantastic. Noel played a great acoustic rendition of it.
All in all I would say it was a better show than the last time Oasis was in Washington State if just because they didn't play Mucky Fingers. But in all honesty, it was a great night, and it was good to hear a few of the older tunes. New album is shaping up to be quite a different animal than anything else we have heard so far.

Wow, brilliant footage! What's with the paper though? Fuck hell, Noel and Liam are old, but they aren't that fucking old to forget the lyrics they've been singing for the past decade+! ;D

Nice vid. How many people were there? The crowd sounds a bit quiet.
Think the bits of paper were probably the lyrics to the new songs for Liam and Noel just happened to be standing in front of them.
Gutted they've dropped My Big Mouth though.

Yes, and they also did Wonderwall semi acoustic (Noel on acoustic and the rest of the band on their usual equipment). A fella over at the official forum confirmed this. And in this video the lead guitar is on electric.

Was at tonight's show & concur w/much of what Mistagoodwin posted. The band sounded great and agree that the new drummer was outstanding. Noel introduced him by a fake name, joking that he wouldn't be around long and making a Spinal Tap reference. Liam's vocals were better than I expected and he was as aloof as ever. This is the 3rd time I've seen them, having caught them when they came through Seattle in '98 and '00. Was surprised to hear them open w/R&RS, since they closed w/it the other times I saw them, but I thought a good choice for an opener. No big quarrel with the setlist except the inclusion of Slide Away and the exclusion of Live Forever, and I was hoping to see Little by Little or Where Did it All Go Wrong as one of Noel's solo vocals. That said, I thought the acoustic version of DLBIA (with Gem accompanying on electric guitar) was the highlight of the show ... though Supersonic has long been one of my faves. Except for TSOTL, the new songs were slower with a bit of a psychedelic feel to them. Some of the numbers were accompanied by some strange imagery projected on the screens above: some looked like old stock art film footage, while others were still collage images like the new album cover. The posted photo is a lousy pix from my cell phone cam. The wife picked up a cool black jacket while I got the light blue t-shirt w/the DOYS artwork on front and the tour dates on back. Those of you up in Canada with tix to the upcoming shows will not be disappointed!!!
