Noel's lyrics have always been pretty poor. It's Liam's delivery of the lyrics, the melody, and the overall feel that made the tunes.

He obviously has something against Oasis, so I don't value his opinion. Frankly, reviews are just that - an opinion - which I can find from anyone on the street. I like Oasis, he doesn't. Fuck him. You said it

Here's what I don't understand, these nerd music critics prefer the music scene WITHOUT Oasis?! I mean they are they only ones that give entertaining interviews and are actually interesting. Just putting them on the cover of a music magazine increases sales. I know a lot of people on this board like Coldplay and they aren't bad, but I can't even get through an interview with Chris Martin! Let's face it, most music critics are failed musicians that didn't get laid until well into their 20s. They eat up introspective, insecure, bed wetting music, because they RELATE. They resent people like Noel and Liam because they don't whine about their problems, they take life by the throat and live it. That is what rock and roll is about.

Hi there.
Let's be clear about this: that review was not a Hot Press review. It didn't appear in Hot Press, or on hotpress.com. It has been quite funny, if confusing, to get emails insulting us about it though.
Our attitude is that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one at Hot Press wants Oasis to "go away". On the contrary! We have had Oasis/Noel Gallagher/Liam Gallagher on the cover a dozen times or so. We've talked to both of them extensively over the years – in fact they've done some of their best interviews ever with Hot Press.
We know that they are one of the most important bands of the past fifteen years – and they give really good interview! Watch out for another one in Hot Press, coming your way soon.

i think pitchforkmedia is pretty funny about the track, cause they don't like oasis per se. but they keep referring to TSOTL as "kinda catchy" like they don't want to admit it IS catchy

This means Hot Press will praise the shite out of Oasis now. It might actually be worth buying for a change

I didn't think he was that harsh. Aside from his lack of research, I think I would agree on all points.

And stop slagging lyrics FFS, has an Oaasis first single ever had masterful lyrics?. Falling Down is better though!
