I personally think Noel should of added a 3rd bonus CD with some of their best live performances of songs on it, dunno whether it's just me but I've never been entirely satisfied with the studio recording of Rock 'n' Roll Star and heard many many live versions that are better 'performed'. What you think?

Gas Panic! is actually probably my favourite song (if I absolutely had to pick one), so I love looking at all the lists you guys have made and seeing it on almost every one.

The songs they picked were fine, but I thought it really gave credence to the muppets who argue that Oasis were done after their first two albums. There really was no need to concentrate so heavily on those two albums, however good they are, cause if you make the point in the sleeve notes that tons of songs from them had to be left off, casual fans or newer fans might go out and buy them too. More money, see!
I'd also go cronologically so you can sort of see the evolution in the music. One thing I hate about Best Of's is when bands throw new tracks on there for the sake of it, but calling it Stop The Clocks and not using the track is just weird. I'd chuck it on as a "bonus track". So I'd go....
Disc 1:
1. Supersonic 2. Live Forever 3. Cigarettes & Alcohol 4. Slide Away 5. Whatever 6. Acquiesce 7. Some Might Say 8. Wonderwall 9. Don't Look Back In Anger 10. Champagne Supernova
Disc 2:
1. D'You Know What I Mean? 2. Stand By Me 3. Go Let It Out 4. The Hindu Times 5. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 6. Songbird 7. Lyla 8. The Importance Of Being Idle 9. Let There Be Love 10. Stop The Clocks

It is always good to see old threads revisited by people. Brings back memories of discussing things back when they were relevant.
As far as this thread goes, I didn't really get all the backlash over the track-listing of Stop The Clocks, mostly because the band (namely Noel) was giving the fans what he saw as his best tracks, and I can except that. I think it common knowledge that all "Best of" releases always leave some cherished tunes off, but that's why we all own the whole Oasis catalogue anyhow. "Best Of" releases are for the sole purpose of possibly getting a few new fans to get into the music of a career versus a single album. The gem of this release was the DVD anyhow. Being able to hear Noel and Liam discuss the tunes and what they meant to them was pretty interesting.

Yeah, Half the World Away being on there was criminal though. It shouldn't have even made the cut for The Masterplan.
Other than that, not bothered but that was a scandal, and should have been replaced by D'You Know What I Mean

The recorded version of HTWA is not Oasis' finest hour in the studio, but I absolutely LOVE any live version I've heard. Great tune, but recorded poorly originally.

Haha, okay, okay...I can see why it was included on The Masterplan, but surely no-one thinks it deserved to be on Stop the Clocks, given that classics like Listen Up and Fade Away weren't?
What don't I like about it? It just does nothing for me. I doubt it would get near my top 50 or 60 oasis songs.
But my beef with it being on STC is that if you're going to include b-sides, there are better ones. Obviously Acquiesce and The Masterplan are rightly there, as well as Talk Tonight. But HTWA is out of place. One of the oasis b-sides that deserves to be a b-side.

All the performances on the last tour was better than the recorded version to be honest. I'm surprised Headshrinker and The Swamp Song made The Masterplan. Round Are Way and My Sister Lover would've been better.
