Love it, love it, love it...
It'd be great if the sound of the first single was a little like The Hindu Times demo.

I'm dying to know if there's still orchestras and all that stuff like Noel originally said, cause this seems very different than the first picture we were painted of the upcoming album

I sure hope so. But hell I love the rocky/trippy feel that has been said more recently. But if its rock/trippy then there is a possiablity of having at least strings cos songs like Gas Panic combine those. But a full orchestra sound fucking awesome. One can hope

I just hope this album/single brings back the feel of D'You Know What i Mean. No song since BHN has had that classic Oasis feel. Everyone is mentioning GP, but i think DYKWIM is far more 'groovy', hopefully it sounds like that.

You're all mental. If that title were offered by any other band, it'd be ripped to piss on here, and rightfully so. amen. schmuck.

'The Shock of the Lightning' is, no pun intended, a fucking shocking single title.
'Dig Out Your Soul' is a bit better but still not great.
Just hope the music itself is top drawer, although all this Noel talk about concentrating on the 'groove' sounds worryingly similar to what he was saying leading up to the release of SOTSOG.
They don't need a change of style for this album, they just need better songs.
Oh, and I pledge here and now not to download the leak.
It's ruined the excitement of buying the last two albums for me.

Terrible name for a song, that. It'd better sound good. Yeah doesnt sound good but if you go back in time, song titles like 'Hindu Times' werent exactly great and 'Columbia' ? Cant imagine the title of the tune is in the song but who knows, gonna be exciting

Stop bitching about the album and track titles. Skimming through, I've read complaints about titles such as the two current ones - Dig Out Your Soul, and The Shock of the Lightning - to old ones like Def. Maybe and Supersonic.
You're all basically complaining about any title you can think of. What exactly are you looking for in a title if something like Def Maybe doesn't even appeal to you?
If Shock of the Lightning is mega, I doubt any of you will give a toss about its supposed shit title.

People need to shut the fuck up with this bitching about the titles. "Disgy's Dinner", "Columbia," "The Girl in the Dirty Shirt," "Roll It Over", "Hindu Times"...all those titles are awful if you're just reading them months ahead of time without hearing the songs. The only thing you can criticize is the album title, but to judge a song by it's title is the epitome of stupidity.

They don't need a change of style for this album, they just need better songs. /quote] SOTSOG is only bad because it has Oasis worst released tracks ever on it - ICSIAL, LJ, PYM...but truth be told it has some crackers on it - GP and WDIAGW to name a couple SOTSOG done right would have been mega - cut those bad 3 songs listed above, and include the likes of LAMB And here's why you shouldn't worry: Oasis will never make another SOTSOG like album disaster again. That album came out in 2000 when Oasis lost 2 band members, the lads were trying to get off drugs, and even Noel said he was "uninspirired" during that time. Now in 2008, Oasis are back - passionate, mature, and stable - as seen with DBTT. If the style is the same, it'll be SOTSOG done RIGHT. I'd rather have an album that sounds like a mix between BHN and DBTT but i wouldnt be too dissapointed with another SOTSOG if done correctly - which it would be.

SOTSOG is a brilliant album. It's only crap in comparison to the other Oasis albums.

I tend to agree with Noel on the subject of SOTSOG, it's a good album that came out of rough times (Sorry, can't remember the exact quote).
And, Headshrinker, I 100% agree with you on the subject of complaints about the single and album name. I know this is an Oasis forum, but I think we should rather try too predict how the new song would sound like, instead of getting caught up with the name of it.
