yeah, gas panic should definitely have been on there..i cant understand go let it out..its like they chose the poppiest part of the catalog possible.. well thats the whole point. its a greatest hit, not best of. of course gas panic is better than half of them songs, but how many mums have heard of gas panic? this album is purely for the mums, girls and lads who only like singing wonderwall and dont look back in ager in night clubs. its not for the fans

Bollocks, frankly. Tracklisting and even running order is poo-poo-ka-ka.
Own goal, Noel.

This album is for the casual buyers. songs like wonderwall,Champagne supernova,DLBIA, some might say,the importance of being idle are favoured by the band wagon jumpers. if this album had songs like Gas panic, the album would probably flop.

biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060911/nym074.html?.v=51Press Release Source: Columbia Records 'STOP THE CLOCKS' ~ After Much Speculation Oasis Announce the Final Track Listing for Their Definitive Collection 'Stop the Clocks' "There could have been more but these 18 songs, spinning in and out of no natural order, through 12 unforgettable years, are the songs the whole world sings, and will sing forever, songs which define the very point of being alive, which fill our souls with hope, escape, friendship, love, laughter, sex, beauty, oblivion, and the timeless freedom of the rock n roll dream itself. These could be the best days of our lives. And they were. And they still are." (Sylvia Patterson)

yeah, i know that noel detests be here now, but i thought they'd have at least one track from it, just as a token representation of the album. liam always says how he thinks its a great album, or at least very good.
who reckons adding songbird was to appease liam? or is it the general opinion that it really is one of their best songs? i mean i like it a lot, but yeah...besides, little by little is a stronger track off hc.
its a bit too heavy on the masterplan for me. i understand the reliance on mg and dm tracks but really, four tracks??? bit excessive to me.
tracklisiting seems kind of awkward....talk tonight in between lyla and some might say? im gonna go listen to the tracks in this order now on my ipod to hear if it miraculously works...
i know this is pointless bitching, but venting helps me get over things =P

Has anyone noticed what with the erm... "curious" tracklisting/song order, that Champagne Supernova comes right after Morning Glory. I was interested to hear how MG would end, or how CS would begin on this record, but they're just gonna throw them on there, back-to-back from the original WTSMG master. No effort what-so-ever. No Stand By Me? Bullshit! LOL At least Slide Away is on there

Surely D'Ya Know What I Mean, Stand By Me or Don't Go Away could've got in. How can you neglect Be Here Now totally? That's just bollocks. Good to see Slide Away & Some Might Say on there as not many non hardcore fans know of those ones. Where's Roll With It & Stop Crying Your Heart Out? Hindu Times? 7/10. Could've had a lot of improvement but still has some good tracks. Even if Noel hates it, no Be Here Now or SCYHO is just shite.

It's official
STOP THE CLOCKS TRACK LISTING REVEALED 11 September 2006
After much speculation Oasis announce the final track listing for their definitive collection Stop The Clocks.
Unlike most albums of this nature, Oasis have sat down and undertaken the almost impossible job of picking what they consider to be their finest moments ever. So Stop The Clock is imbued with the sort of wilfulness that has helped make Oasis the favourite band of millions of people worldwide and its running order will no doubt provoke equal parts adulation and bar discussions from the millions of Oasis fans worldwide. Could it ever be any other way? Oasis have been at the helm of the world's music scene for over ten years and, on 20th November 2006 the first ever Oasis retrospective will draw together the years of multi platinum albums, Number One singles and, unique to Oasis, instantly familiar B sides into one 18 track double album entitled Stop the Clocks.
So here it is. The tracks as chosen by the band themselves - the songs they believe encapsulate their remarkable career to date.
Rock n Roll Star Some Might Say Talk Tonight Lyla The Importance of Being Idle Wonderwall Slide Away Cigarettes & Alcohol The Masterplan Live Forever Acquiesce Supersonic Half The World Away Go Let It Out Songbird Morning Glory Champagne Supernova Don't Look Back In Anger

Oh, and if you're so disgusted, maybe you should learn how to spell it. No new songs, hardly making an effort, i think lazy is the exact word, stop talking out of my arse? stop pickin yours and if all you can do to annoy me is make fun of my grammer, fuck right off

Oh, and if you're so disgusted, maybe you should learn how to spell it. can do to annoy me is make fun of my grammer, fuck right off Yeah alright that was a bit pointless, ignore that. There's no rule that says these records have to include new songs though is there? It is a trend which has come about more so in recent years, at most they're going against the current trend, but that's all surely? As a fan, I'd love new songs as well, I'd expected there to be a couple, but these just aren't for fans. I do agree that a lot about Oasis (or closer to the truth, Noel) has been lazy in recent years, but I think it's harsh on this occasion.

Lmao does anyone else think this album is just one big "Fuck you" to Sony? It doesn't look like a real "best of" because there's no way in hell the band would pick "Lyla" lol. Even Noel has said it was nothing more then a "made for sony pop tune".
And the title "Stop The Clocks", I'm not sure what to think of it. I've been excited ever since the announcement that this album would be a fantastic best of + new material album... But now I'd be incredibly surprised if Stop The Clocks will be released anywhere.

WTF?! No Little James? Fuck off I had to. But, seriously I get a feeling theres going to be a some sort of extra something, Noel said that he cant stand fact of a "Best of.." that Im just sure theyd put something of a treat atleast. And Im sure if Sony has their way, in order to sell more copies they'll have a bonus disc or extra DVD meterial or some Dave Sardy mix of song. As Im a major Definitely Maybe fan, Im cool with the tracklisting wish Columbia'd of made it on there though. Artwork looks kinda crappy. Can soemone blow that picture up to have a better look? Who guessed the tracks for the Inet comp?

I hate compilation albums (unless they are of stuff that isn't on any of the studio albums)
My idea is that there are certainly a lot of great tracks on there, yet there a lot of tracks that we could forever say "why", or "wouldn't that be a better choice", or whatever.
Essentially, this album was doomed to be a letdown. But I know that it wasn't Noel's choice, so he's still my hero!

I realize there is no way to please the oasis fanatics out there but the listing is horrible. Why ignore two of your albums completely? I realize Noel considers BHN an artistic failure but it still contains songs held in esteem by the fans today. I hate to say it but the band really messed this one up.

I can see that it was a definite fuck up.... however, at the same time, I don't think that the band really wanted to make a big steal on it. They're happy winning people with studio albums.
Besides, this is them picking tunes they wanted. 5 people... each pick a few (some more than others, obviously) and this is what you get.
I would hate to see a best of. Hate it hate it hate.
