i am sat here watching vh1 classics and the smiths were just on. seing streets in england and old people having tea reminds me how beautifully simple life can be and how beautiful something like a cup of tea in a crumby old ladies shop can be. i moved to the states 2 years ago, my mum came to visit me 2 weeks ago after not having seen anyone i know since i moved here and i just dropped her off. i am upside down right now, don't know what to think or do. this american life has made me very strange. i used to appreciate little things in life and now i'm just after money. i desperately want to make over $100k this year to prove myself something that i don't even know. it's strange...this might not be the right place to post something like this and i'm honestly just typing fast..losing track of my muddled thoughts and all that. fuckin hell

You need to take the time to still appreciate the little things. You let yourself get wrapped up in the $$$$. Take a step back maybe. I think you mentioned you are on the west coast. I find the east coast to be very different.

Its what this side of the atlantic is aaaaaallllllllll about!

good evening shake... I don't think this post is dumb at all. I do agree with what shadowboxer said above and eggy. I too lived abroad and many others I know , and the transition back to the states can be VERY DIFFICULT, therefore, you just put down some thoughts that are valid. in my opinion. (you and I chatted a bit before on a post from a german girl, HI again. Also saw your pic I think you are aware of this and seem at conflict perhaps ? awareness is the 1st step to change, if later you decide you wanna do something about it. you will do it or not on your timeline. Think back to what those little things are that you enjoyed and try to incorporate them into your life. (ya know, this is a bit of unsolicited advice huh ? sorry..) I try to ride my bike places, walk to the store with a basket (yeah ppl look at me , so f-ing what !) go sit and HANG out at a coffee shop, whatever it is you wanna do. As for the money thing, it does give us a certain amount of freedom, doesn't it ? However, when we go to work we actually PAY for our money with OUR TIME (and health etc.) very true ! My time is worth a lot. same for us all. How is the West Coast BTW ? I lived in Oregon and washinton a few years back. MUCH DIFFERENT MENTALITY>. much slower than east coast. LOved it but rain drove me nuts and economy not good back then! LOL ! Be well.. Here is something related to forum - OASIS !
