What are your thoughts on the proposed Euro constitution?
To be honest, I sincerely hope that it gets rejected, which I think it will after Holland and France have just voted against it.
The main reason I don't want it to happen is that I am a proud English person, and, I don't want to loose the sovereignity of this country. I'm not be racist or anti-foreign or anything like that but I just think that our country should be governed from within our country, not by a board of elected governers from within the proposed constitution.
Sorry to everyone who this does not effect, and who will conseqently find it a boring thread, but, I just wanted to see if the other British and European members shared the same opinion as mine.

i've said it before & i'll say it again - why the fuck did Britons vote to join the EU in the first place if they hate the concept so much?
If you had enough education to read what the Constitution is about, you'd quickly realise it has FA to do with your sovereignity, and shock horror, your country would still govern themselves in the same manner they do now.
You really don't have a clue what it's about, do you? It's been explained in other threads here, of which you were replying to

BTW whatever is gonna happen you'll all stay "proud english" because i dont think belgian ppl will adopt you hum...for many reasons, england as much as any country in the EU gains a lot from being a part of it...you shouldn't be so disdainful. It creates loads of jobs and helps improving the law and especially british law... dont shout at me i've studied european law in england, i know what i'm talking about...

I'm not saying no, and intending to vote no, just because I'm proud to be English. The main reason for me personally saying no is that I don't want this country to be governed from anywhere else but here. It's hard enough having the idiots in government now ruling the country, never mind some idiot politician who doesn't even live in the country, never mind care about it making decisions on how we should be governed.

I still think EU will fail, because too many countries joined at once without a good lay out planned. You know the Constitution isn't even set in place, but they talk about adding more in. I mean WTF? Europeans are in denial of the facts. Too many countries are set in their ways, religion plays a big part also, and they just won't reach a common ground. They say oh, but we trying what US does, but the US fought, bought, and won, and we weren't a settle country for centuries like countries of Europe are.
