A person i work with is one of the the sponsors for Manchester Versus Cancer.
I've been told that Noel Gallagher is headling.
Don't blame me if it's false.
Sounds possible.

Could it really be true? Cause he would not play any of Oasis songs, I think...He's made very quick that he's no longer a part of Oasis. So if he does it, is he gonna play his songs like that?

I don't see why he can't still play the Oasis songs that he has written. Plus, looking at the lineup, there has to be somebody bigger, from Manchester, headlining above Snow Patrol...
Tickets are still available - I'm so tempted to get one now on the offchance that Noel does play. I almost kicked myself to death for missing him there on his semi-acoustic tour 06/07. (tickets had sold out, and I couldn't afford the £75+ that the touts were asking for outside! lol)
OP, I hope your work mate doesn't have a reputation as a windup merchant!

Probably between now and 12th of December at a guess!  lol
Last time he played (2007), the gig was on the 30th of March - his appearance at the gig was confirmed around the 8th of March (looking at old news articles).

My friend from work has no knowledge on music. Her husband runs his own musical business which every year funds the Manchester Versus Cancer event at the MEN Arena. She has a VIP box in the arena each year, and seems to have good knowledge on the event, even though she is not familiar with the artists. I was informed yesterday that Noel Gallagher is down to perform. I was quite taken aback by how much inside knowledge she has, considering she knows little about Noel Gallagher. It was hard not to believe her.
Time will tell i suppose.
It does seem very possible.
I've actually just bought a ticket for this event. I called into the MEN Arena box office on my way home from work (A-Ha are playing tonight ).
Standing tickets £40.
Seats between £30-35
I got a standing ticket.
Hopefully it will be a memorable night like in 2007.......

Back by popular demand and fresh from their US tour, the band haven’t played their home town Arena since their mind blowing greatest hits set at Versus Cancer in February 2008. ....
The line up already including Snow Patrol, James’ Tim Booth, Jim Glennie, and Larry Gott, Andy Rourke, Peter Hook and the BBC Philharmonic orchestra. More acts are set to be announced in the coming days.....

I've no new information.
Not sure what the final line up is.
I know a few of you having been emailing me about the situation with Noel. Like i said in my original post. The information was 3rd party from a work colleague.
It still looks possible. I can't say more than i know already.
If it turns out to be bollocks, then i can only apologise.
If it turns out to be true, then those who have tickets are in for a good night.
