 Recording on a budget.....

is there a microphone i can get for a cheap price that i can record both my vocas and acoustic through at the same time? got a really crap little pc mic at the minute and it recods really quiet so when you listen back you have to turn the volume up to max and its really hissy in the bcakground!!

any help?

as cheap as possible my mate. I only want to do some decent recordings to bang on my ipod and listen to while im driving.
dont want a big setup just advice on an ok mic that will cut out all the white noise and record at a better volume

you know what works for me with my ipod? i record with the built in micon garageband for acoustic and vocals and they turn out awesome. i've got 20 so far on my ipod and listen to them in the car all the time.

The next step up from a shitty pc mic is a condenser mic. The lowest end one is about 100. But you also have to buy a power supply/interface for it. You should probably go to your local guitar center/store with alot of music shit and see what the guys there can fit into your price range.

actually, if you have a mac, the mic on it is just under the quality of a compressor.
