this is the best thing that could of happened. with each successive release oasis soiled their legacy more and more. that is a fact. yes, there was a nice reprieve with don't believe the truth which was a good solid record. but it wasn't exactly to the quality of their first two was it?
noel can go solo now which is going to be interesting because it is going to either give credence to the debate that liam always held the band back from expanding musically. or show that noel just has a very limited musical palette. i expect the former not the latter to be truth.
but like i was saying this was a band at one time meant something to a lot of people. but betrayed their trust with each successive release. a lot of bluster filled the latter half of their career which is probably going to hold the band back from being considered one of the greats all time. to put it this way oasis are the don mattingly of music.

i sort've agree. dig out your soul definitely wasnt as good as dont believe the truth. id really be more interested in hearing noel's first album than i would be interested in hearing oasis 8th studio album.

I have to agree with this. Though it's unfortunate that the tour won't be finished, it's obvious that Liam's voice would have to be edited to death on the next album, and Noel's songs (and even his B-sides) have always been better than those of the other band members. I fully expect his solo album to be better than the past several releases. I just hope it comes soon.
