I used to think exactly that. didn't like the acoustic version at all, felt it was dull to play it in stadiums. But I got to experience it in Buenos Aires and man I was wrong! I can't explain it how it feels but it was absolutely fantastic to sing along 45000 people.

I prefer the acoustic version. That's probably because we've had the electric version for donkeys years mind.

The electric is a bit over blown, the the original recording sounds epic. Proper epic.

The origina is mega, but the acoustic is so sweet. Especially, with 40,000 singing w/ u.

Yeah, I think the older full version sounded a bit overblown live, but this acoustic version is sweet.

Both versions are great. Shouldn't be exclusive about one or the other. Mix em up!

As I said, I don't think either one is better. When it comes down to it it's a matter of mood. The electric version doesn't even have that same feeling as the studio recording, so it's almost like there are 3 versions of the chune, really. Listening to some of the 1997/98 versions of the song it's a big sloppy mess. The electric version has come a long way since (in 2000 and 2002 it was back to being properly done) and the current setup is fucking beautiful. I don't think it should stick around longterm or anything, but it's not to have a change when it's so amazingly well doen

This is how it should be played.
I think this is as close to the original as it has ever sounded live.

The electric version from the past few tours (since 2000, I suppose) have been amazing. Before it was a bit rushed and a bit hit or miss. I'd definitely prefer they brought back the electric version, can't beat it.

The acoustic one is missing the drum solo.
That's the difference for me.

The one at Manchester in 2005 is amazing, i would definitely prefer to see it done like that, even though i do love the acoustic. It is definitely all about the chorus after the solo and the drum fill.

Joeyfrancis, that is a great choice!!! Man, sounds beautiful. But that's what I was trying to say with my post. Unfortunately, I really dislike the way the Starkey plays the drums in DLBIA.

The versions played in this tour are absolute beautiful... gave me a full new meaning for this song... I reckon they shouldn't play it like that forever, but it suits really well for this tour...
